I had so much fun playing with the Tres Jolie Card kit. This month was all about pink, red, and love. The gorgeous card kit this month was perfect for making some heart cards.
Card 1
Materials and Measurements
card base - Pink 5 1/2" x 8 1/2" scored at 4 1/4" on the long side
white layer - 4" x 5 1/4"
vertical strip - pink (same as card base) 1 1/2" x 5 1/4"
pattern paper from kit - pink hearts 1 1/4" x 5 1/4"
small wooden heart (you can also use one of the punch out hearts from the punch out sheets)
punch out from kit
white baker's twine
Step by Step
- Take one of the small wooden hearts from the kit and cover with gesso. Set aside to dry.
- When the heart is dry paint it with a pink acrylic paint that matches the pink in the kit. Set aside to dry.
- Fold and burnish the card base.
- Glue the white layer to the card base centering on all sides.
- Attach the pink hearts pattern paper to the pink strip.
- Add the strip from Step 3 to the center of the white layer on the card base.
- Punch out one of the animal hearts from the die cut sheets. Add foam tape to the back and attach it to the card front to the left side of the vertical strip. See photo above.
-
Use the white baker's twine to tie a multiloop bow. Add it to the lower left side of the punched out heart added in Step 7.
- Punch out a sentiment of your choice and add it to the upper left hand side of the card front. See photo above.
- Glue the painted heart to the lower right hand side of the card front.
-
Find an image to stamp the inside of the card and envelope before you send it out to brighten someone's day.

pattern paper from kit - pattern with diamond pattern in the center 3 7/8" x 5 1/8" (cut so the diamond pattern goes vertically down the center of the piece)

red doily from kit
circle dies - I used one that was 3 1/2"
Step by Step
- Fold and burnish the card base.
- Glue the pattern paper layer to the white layer centering on all sides.
- Attach the panel from Step 2 to the card base centering on all sides.
- Take the red doily and cut off 2 1/2".
- Use a circle die that will fit inside the red doily and die cut a circle from the white shimmer paper.
- Attach the circle from Step 5 to the cut red doily making sure the edge of the white shimmer circle is under the lacy pattern. Cut the extra of the circle off even with the edge of the red doily.
-
Use the other piece of the red doily and add it so the laced edge is about 1/4" below the edge of the white shimmer circle.
- Glue the doily element to the card front so the top is about 1/4" from the top of the card base.
- Take the white scrap and die from the kit and cut out the shape.
- Use some red ink to stamp a sentiment and a heart from the stamp set in the kit. See photo above.
- Add the shape from Step 10 to the card front so the left edge is about 1/2" from the left side of the card base.
- Use the heart from the stamp set to decorate the inside of the card and envelope. Send it out to brighten someone's day!
