Mixed Media Monday

Hey everyone, Kim here. I'm back today sharing my project I made with the February mixed media kit. If you didn't know, our mixed media kits always come with a project so you can start playing with your mediums as soon as you open the box.

How about some close-ups?

Here I used some of the art stones from the January 2021 mixed media kit. That's the purpose of this kit, to build your mediums stash, so you can use it on other projects. I painted the base white before I used the crackle medium and then the pink paint. You can see some of the white peeking thru the cracks. 

This resin piece is also from my stash. Here you can see the gold alloy ink that I used. I put a dropper full on the frame and with a damp paint brush, smeared it randomly on the frame. I like the streaks that it made. All the flowers used are from the kit.

Here is the base. After I got it painted and crackled the way I wanted, I used the same technique with the alloy inks. Then I took some water downed paint and gave it a slight white wash. I added more flowers and art stones. I also took some of the alloy ink on my finger and ran it all around the edges.

I really like how my project turned out. Now it's ready to be given as a gift or to sit on my shelf along with some of my other favorite projects. Did you get this kit?
