Be Led by Your Dreams Wall Hanging

Today I am sharing a project I made with the March scrapbook kit as well as the mixed media kit.

This is my project:

I started out with this metal heart I've had for a while. I added some of the liquid fluid medium to the entire piece with a foam stippling brush, then sprinkled on several of the mica powders.  I let them sit for a minute, then added some water to give the mica powders some movement.  Once I got the colors on how I wanted them. I let them dry, and then I added another coat of the fluid medium again to set the powders.

You can see that adding water and allowing some of the powders to dry, it gave a bit of a mottled look.

Next, I cut out some of the elements from the cut out page from the scrapbook kit: a clock and a gear.  I also used the vellum that was in the package of leaves.  I distressed and inks these elements and then layered them for a background for my focal point: a resin frame.  This is a frame from a mould from a past mixed media kit.

I painted the resin frame black and then added some of the mica powders to it.  I also used some silver and gold wax to achieve this look.  I used some sisal from my stash as well as a butterfly to the middle of the frame.

Lastly, I added some of the pink mica powders to some of the white flowers from the kit and added those to the project.  I also added a pink flower from my stash and as well as a title.
