Vintage Wedding Canvas
Hello Craft Friends!
Happy November to you all! I hope you all have something you are grateful for. I am grateful for my parents who loved and cared for me and my brother, and gave us a happy childhood. Now that they have both passed on, I treasure every photo or memory I have left of them. They are the focus of my home decor project today. We will be creating a canvas you can hang and display in your home, featuring the new November Scrapbook kit from Tres Jolie! The papers are from Craft O Clock "Vintage Beauty" collection. This kit has lots of extra pages to fussy cut (one of my favorite things to do) and lots of flowers and pretty chipboard leaves and so much more.
For this project I am using a canvas I bought at my local craft store, it measures 9x12 inches.
I am using mine horizontally for this project. I chose one of the beautiful 12x12 papers in this kit, and cut it down to 11 & 3/4 x 8 & 3/4 inches. Glue you paper down onto your canvas.
Now taking 2 of the chipboard leaves, I applied some Chalk Ink Pastel Brown and Dry Sand ( from my crafty stash)onto my leaves alternating both colors. Set aside to dry.
Next I took a Prima Resin frame (from my stash) and using a Folkart baby pink and conch shell acrylic paints, I applied the paint to the flowers and Rose gold acrylic paint onto the leaves. Set aside to dry. After your frame has dried, I applied some Frank Garcia Artisian powder Parthenay (from my stash) to the edges of my frame, using a stiff brush.
Next using the Scraps from the 12x12 paper, I cut 2 strips measuring 1/2"x 9" and 2 strips measuring 1/2" x 12. I inked around the edges using Tim Holtz Distress Ink Gathered Twigs (from my stash)I glued these strips along the outside edges of my canvas. Then taking the artisan powder I applied some in between the gaps around the edge.
I chose a treasured photo of my parents on their wedding day, and adhered to the back of my Resin frame. Then I glued my frame towards the upper left side on my canvas. I arranged a variety of flowers from Prima and Little Birdie (all included in this kit) around the bottom of my Resin frame. The "Love" Trinket I had in my stash, I tucked behind some flowers. Here's some closeups!
On the bottom left corner I arranged some more Prima flowers (including some from this kit and the larger flower from my stash) a sentiment sticker (from my stash) and I tucked the chipboard leaves behind my larger flower. I love tucking some Memory Hardware pearls( from my stash and some Spanish moss) in between my flowers. I glued a gold heart charm from my stash on top of the Spanish moss. Here's a closeup!
On the upper left corner I fussy cut and glued some floral images and leaves, some with foam dots to add more dimension. Here's another closeup!
To finish my canvas, I added a few Prima crystals along with another sentiment using Tim Holtz alpha tiles (in my stash)
I hope you enjoyed my project today and will be inspired! So grab your kit and treasured photos and create your one of a kind masterpiece! Please share your creations with us on our Facebook page!
Until next time, Happy Scrapbooking!
