Vintage Paper Bag Mini Album
Hi Crafty Friends, Jeanne back this week to share with you this Vintage Paper Bag Mini Album I've created using this months Scrapbook Kit from Tres Jolie! The Stamperia "Romantic" collection is beautiful and I thought making this paper bag mini would be perfect for this. I had not created one of these in a few years and it was pretty fun to create.
I began by taking (5) paper bags, even though my photo shows 4, and I folded them in half then scoring that half just for a better fold. Then you will fold as seen in the photo, this will be a pocket. I set them aside then I made what will be the spine, I was out of Kraft colored paper so I just used a dark brown card stock but it turned out pretty good either way. So I cut 3 pieces of this card stock at 1 1/2 X 5 , scored them in half and added double sided score tape as seen on the photo.
Coming back to the semi folded bags, you will next add score tap on the area that will be a pocket. I used score tape but you are welcome to add any glue to this. Once I was done with this part, I adhered them onto the scored Kraft paper strip, do not adhere too close to the scored line of the card stock as you won't be able to close them as pages.
I then proceeded to cut the paper for the whole pages (pages without the pockets) from the Stamperia Romantic paper pad. I cut them at 5 X 5 1/4 , and on the paper that makes up the pockets and page, these are cut at 2 1/2 X 5 and 2 3/4 X 5.
Before adhering the papers, I used the Prima Distress tool around all of the papers I cut and then I used Tim Holtz Vintage Photo Distress Ink with a dauber to distress all of the edges of the papers. Then adhered them onto the paper bag, for this I used Aleene's Tacky Glue but as I've stated before you are welcome to use any adhesive on this.
With all the papers adhered on this, I then proceeded to make holes on the edges of the spine where I then put each one together and tied them using Sari ribbon that I had in my stash. I absolutely love the vintage look this gave my album.
Next I began adding to the inside pages, on some pages I added some sticker photos from the Finnabair Vintage Photo booth (from a previous Tres Jolie Kit) and I also added some of the chipboard sentiments from the Stamperia Romantic collection.
On some of the pages I did add a photo mat for adding my own photos.
I also added the (3) white tags from this month's card kit and some kraft colored tags from my stash with some twine string. I put these in the pockets I made. There is also the larger pockets on these ( the main opening of the paper bags) for storing memorabilia , more photos, etc.
Lastly I finished this album by adding a doily, a variety of flowers (some from the card kit) a clock and sentiment chipboard piece from the collection and a Tim Holtz paper doll piece from my stash.
My video includes more photos of this album. Hope you will check it out.
I hope that you will try this project if you haven't yet, and I look forward to coming back next week with a new month and a new project for you all. Until then, stay safe and Happy Crafting!
~Hugs~
