Vintage Love Home Decor Canvas

Hello Crafty Friends!

Hope you all had a Happy and safe New Year's holiday. Now that January has arrived we have l9ts of new kits and inspiration to share all month long!

Today I'm creating a Home Decor Wall Hanging using the Tres Jolie January Mixed Media Kit!

This is what's in this month's kit: 1 Canvas Board- 8x8, TCW Stencil Butters- Dune, Seashell, Orchid, Hydrangea, Rose & Fern, Prima Marketing "Nature Lovers" wood frame set-3 pieces. Here's a photo of the Mixed Media Kit:

For my project, I am using the following TCW Stencil Butters- Rose, Hydrangea and Seashell. From my stash I am using Prima Marketing Frank Garcia's "French Blue" Ephemera and Prima flowers from this collection. I wanted a vintage look to my project. But you can use any other paper collection from your stash. In addition I am using foam dots, pallet knife, Prima stencil- "Cast Iron Vine", Stickles Glitter Stardust, Dazzle Silver sticker, Glossy Accents, light blue Tulle, pearls and this Tres Jolie Chipboard Stamp. To begin take out your canvas board. Tape your Stencil in place. 

Chose several TCW Stencil Butters. Here's which ones I'm using:

Taking my palette knife ( or you can use any old credit card to spread these Stencil Butters) i applied my Stencil Butters on top of my Stencil. Scape off any excess Stencil Butters and return to your jar. These Stencil Butters are so creamy and add a shimmering look. See photo:

I kept adding several Stencil Butters mixing the different colored Butters slightly. After your Stencil is covered, carefully lift off your Stencil. You can wash off your Stencil before proceeding. 

Next taking some patterned papers, I cut 4- 1 inch strips. Score at 1/2inch and fold. See photos:

Taking one strip at a time, Iwrapped it around my canvas edge and adhered each strip with glue along all 4 sides of my canvas board. Miter all 4 corners. This gives a nice clean look. See photos:

Set your canvas board aside, and take out one of the Prima wood frames. I chose an Ephemera card to fit inside my wood frame.

Take the Tres Jolie Chipboard Stamp 2 piece. I chose a Ephemera ticket to glue onto the bottom chipboard Stamp piece.

 On the top chipboard piece, I applied some Versa Ink-umber on top. Let dry.

 Then glue the top chipboard Stamp piece on top. See photo:

Now gather some embellishments to decorate your canvas board. I like to use a variety of embellishments, and of course some Prima Marketing flowers! I also chose some more Ephemera pieces.

Now I decide where I want to place everything. On the backside of my wood frame, I cut acouple cardboard pieces, and adhered on the backside with hot glue. This adds height and dimension.

Adhere the wood frame centered onto your canvas board. I glued acouple small Prima flowers and a chipboard sticker sentiment.I added an Ephemera butterfly at the top. I applied some Stickles Glitter Stardust on the butterfly wings! Here's a closeup photo!

On the bottom i glued my Tres Jolie Chipboard Stamp with the butterfly. I applied a Dazzle Silver dot on the butterfly head. On the right bottom edge I added 2 dress form Ephemera pieces overlapping each other, with foam dots. I glued a small Prima flower on each dress form at the top. Here's a photo:

On the lower left corner, I arranged some Prima Marketing flowers and glued in place. I tucked some pearls in between and on my flower petals, with Glossy Accents! Here's a close up look:

To finish our home decor canvas, I took a piece of light blue Tulle, tied a knot on both ends of my Tulle. With hot glue i attached it to the backside. Here's my finished photo!
