Vintage Gift Box & Notecards

Hello and Welcome Crafty Friends!

So glad you're here. I hope the project today will be something you might find helpful and want to make for a special Crafty friend or family.

Today we will be making a Vintage gift Box and 3 Note Cards, that fit perfectly inside your gift box! Afterwards this box could be used again to store jewelry or other pretty things.

To make this project, I am using the February Mixed Media and Scrapbook kits! If you haven't ordered these kits, there may be some still available. Here's a photo of both kits:

From my Stash I am using: Tim Holtz Distress Ink Milled Lavender, Graphic45 Book box, small doily, foam dots and tape, Modge Podge, lace, crystal gems, Stickles Glitter Diamond, 3 white cards, Liquid pearls- Bisque and Petal Pink, sponge brush, Spectrum Noir Glossy Highlights.

To start, we will decorate our book box. This is the G45 book box I'm using. You could use another box similar size from your stash.

Take the piece of rice paper from the Mixed Media Kit.  I cut it apart and will be using piece on the right side with the pink roses. You can save the other piece for a future project. See photo:

Taking the Rice paper, trim it to cover the top of your book box. I am turning my box vertically so it opens up to the left.

Then taking your sponge brush, slightly wet with water and Modge Podge. Apply over the top of the box. Carefully lay your rice paper over top. Smooth out so no wrinkles. Let dry.

While the box is drying, we can start cutting our papers from the Scrapbook kit to cover the outside of our box.

I cut them to measure the following:

Short sides,: cut 2- 4 & 3/4 x 2 & 1/2 inches

Long sides: cut 1piece at 7x 2 & 5/8 inches and 1 piece at 6 & 1/2 x 2 & 3/8 inches

Bottom of box: cut 1 at 5x7 inches

Ink papers and adhere them on the outside and bottom of the box. See photos:

Inside the box cut the following:

I cut the remaining inside panel the same as long sides.

Inside spine: cut 1 at 2 & 3/8 x 6 & 7/8

Inside back of lid: cut 1 at 7 x 2 & 5/8

Inside bottom of the box: cut 1 at 6 & 1/4 x 4 & 1/4 inches. Glue these in place.

I left all inside panels as is. But you could add paper here if you prefer.

I fussy cut one of the perfume bottles, necklace and jewelry box. See photo:

Taking some Glossy Highlights I applied some over the top of the perfume bottle and on the jewel necklace. Let dry overnight. This adds some nice dimensional look and dries clear.

Meanwhile we will decorate our Tres Jolie Chipboard Oval frame: you can find it here in the shop

https://tresjoliekits.com/collections/chipboard/products/frames

I left the frame plain and just applied some crystal l gems on all fours points. I attached a small photo behind my Chipboard frame. See photo:

I glued a piece of lace trim along the top of my box on the leftside. Then with foam tape, I adhered my Chipboard frame towards the bottom left edge.

Taking some of the Dresden Trim Gold Chain from the Scrapbook kit, I glued along the bottom edges all around the outside of my box. Trim any excess. See photo:

To decorate the top of our box, I fussy cut out an envelope, and teacup. I also chose a Prima flower from the Scrapbook kit.

I glued the Prima flower on the upper right corner. With foam dots I adhered the perfume bottle next to the Prima flower. The envelope and teacup on the right side of my Chipboard frame. I added foam dots to the backside of the teacup before adhering. Here's acouple closeup photos:

Open your box and on the backside of the cover, using foam dots I adhered the jewel necklace at the top. I cut out a sentiment and glued onto the inside spine of my box.

On the inside bottom of my box, I glued some more Dresden Trim on the outer edges.

I glued the jewelry box fussycut and acouple flowers inside the bottom of the box. Here's a finished photo:

Now we are all finished with our gift box! We can now start creating our 3 notecards.

The  3 card bases I will be using measure: 4 & 1/4 x 5 & 1/2 inches. I also will use one of these new Tres Jolie Chipboard Keys/hearts

I covered the front of my card using the "Bloom" photo mat and cut to measure 3 & 7/8 x 5 & 3/8 inches, leaving a white border around the edges. I inked the edges using Distress Ink Milled Lavender. Then adhered with foam tape.

Then I cut out a journal card and trimmed to fit on my card. I also cut an extra envelope, sentiment and purple feather.

Taking a small white doily, I applied the same Distress Ink around the edges.

I glued the journal card onto my card base, tucking the doily behind it, followed by the matching envelope and feather fusycut pieces, using foam dots and  over top of the previous journal card. This adds some dimension.

On the inside of my card, I cut a leftover piece from the photo mat scrap and glued along the right side of my card. Then added the sentiment piece on the leftside.

To finish I applied some Stickles Glitter Diamond on the feather! Here's some finished photos!

Card #2: I cut a piece from "Lilac path" paper to measure 5 & 1/4 x 4 inches. Adhere with foam tape.

I took out the diecut perfume bottle and frame, and fussy cut out 2 flowers and the candle .

I glued my diecut frame centered onto my card front. With foam dots I adhered my perfume bottle on the right edge. Then glued the 2 fussy cut flowers on the left corner and with foam dots, added the candle. Then applied some Stickles Glitter Diamond to my flower center, candle and perfume bottle.

Here's some photos!

Card #3:  I took some Dresden trim and glued all around the edges of my card.

I chose one of the Tres Jolie Chipboard Keys and using a technique that Kim the owner demonstrated on our you tube channel. In case you missed it here is the link:

I applied some Liquid pearls Bisque and Petal Pink to my Chipboard key. Then sprinkled some clear Embossing powder over top. (My stash) then heat embossed! It adds nice texture.

Then I cut out the journal card with the mirror and fussy cut out the oval center from the diecut mirror piece. See photo:

I glued the journal card in place. With foam dots I adhered the fussy cut oval frame on top of the mirror on my journal card. Then glued my TJ Chipboard Key on the right side. Here's some finished photos!

Now you can store your note cards into the Gift box and have a gift that's sure to bring a smile to your crafty friend's face.

Hope you enjoyed my project and are inspired. I will be back next month to share more craft ideas and inspiration!

Thank you for joining me today.
