Vignettes Wood Box and Chipboard Memory-Dex Cards

Hello Craft Friends!

I'm Dana and today I'll be sharing a project idea using our new Tres Jolie Chipboard Memory-Dex Cards. You can find them here in the shop: https://tresjoliekits.com/collections/chipboard/products/memory-dex-cards

For this project I'm using the Tres Jolie September Scrapbook kit! It includes this brand new Paper collection from Blue Fern Studios! It's called "Happenstance " you receive 12x12 papers along with matching Ephemera diecuts pack and set of 24 Journaling cards! In addition you'll receive Tres Jolie Chipboard new Butterflies and Trellis pieces, lace, Finnibair Mechanicals Woodland Leaves pack,  Prima Vermilion Ink, & Market flowers and Little Birdie flowers! So don't wait and be sure to order your kit or kits early. Then tend to sell out quickly. Here's a photo of the Scrapbook kit:

From my stash, I will be using a Tim Holtz idea-ology Small Vignettes wood box, Distress Ink Gathered Twigs, foam dots, photos, Black Sparkle embossing powder, Versamark Clear ink, xaco knife, 49 and Market Small flowers from a previous Tres Jolie Kit, and Folkart Vintage White acrylic paint.

The Vignettes box I'm using measures 4 & 3/4 x 3 & 1/2. To begin our project, we will apply acrylic Folkart Vintage White paint on the bottom edges and the top edge of the scalloped Chipboard Memory-Dex Card. Apply your paint onto both sides of each chipboard card. Set these aside to dry. See photos:

While our Memory-Dex cards are drying we can decorate our Vignettes box. I cut my papers to measure the following:

4 & 3/4 x 1 & 3/8 inches- cut 2, cut 3 & 1/8 x 1 & 1/4 inches-cut 2. I am inking all my papers before gluing in place. You can use any patterned papers from the kit, I chose to use "Synchronism " paper. See photo:

For the inside panels in cut as follows: 3 x 1 & 1/8 inches- cut 2, glue on short sides. For the larger inside panels in cut to measure 4 & 1/4 x 1- 2 total. For the inside bottom I cut a piece at 4 & 1/4 x 3 inches. I also cut a piece to cover the bottom of my box. You can skip this step if you prefer. Here's a photos:

On the front of my Wooden box, I adhered some flowers from the kit and tucked one of the Finnibair Mechanical Woodland Leaves behind my blue flower. Then I glued this ephemera Crown piece on the right edge. Here's a photo:

Inside bottom of my box:

Now set your wood box aside. We can start decorating our Tres Jolie Chipboard Memory-Dex Cards! This is one of my favorite things to do. I love adding different and unique embellishments to any project.  Use your imagination and have fun!

Card #1 front: I cut one of the journal card to measure 3 & 3/4 x 4 inches. Ink and glue onto the front of your Memory-Dex card. Trim away any excess paper using an x-acto knife. See photos:

Set aside and take out one of the Tres Jolie chipboard Butterflies pieces from the kit. I cut off the top butterfly. I also chose this ephemera teacup piece. See photo:

I applied some Versamark Clear ink onto my butterfly and sprinkled some Black Sparkle embossing powder over top. Shake off any excess embossing powder and heat with your heat tool. See photo:

Now glue your Chipboard butterfly on the left side. With foam dots I adhered the ephemera teacup piece on the right edge and glued another ephemera cloud at the top! Here's a closeup photo:

Card 1: backside: I cut and glued my paper onto my chipboard piece. I inked and used my x-acto knife to trim away any excess paper as we did previously. See photo:

From my stash I found this tiny resin frame. I cut a scrap piece of paper to fit behind my resin frame. Then glued in place. See photo:

I glued the frame on the leftside. I chose the Chance ephemera sentiment and a flower from the kit to decorate my chipboard Memory-Dex card.

I glued the ephemera sentiment at the top and the Turquoise flower on the right side. Here's a finished photo:

Next we are going to create a file pocket folder using the cardboard insert from the Prima flowers package. Trim off the top portion and fold in half. Crease with your bone folder. See photos:

Now cover the front and backside with paper from the kit. I used a journal card cut my paper to measure 3 & 1/4 x 4 inches. Punch or cut the notch at the top. Glue together to create a pocket. I glued a piece of lace across the top of my pocket. See photo above. Here's the backside

I cut out another journal card and added a photo. Tuck this inside your pocket. From my stash I glued a flower button on top of my lace trim. Here's some photos!

Card 2: I cut my journal card and glued on side 1. See photo:

To decorate i adhered the Llama flag ephemera at the top left corner using foam dots.  I glued a few 49 and Market flowers on the bottom right corner and then added these Tim Holtz idea-ology paper dolls (my stash) using foam dots and tucking them behind my flowers. Here's a photo:

Backside of Card #2: I cut from bottom right corner of "Endless " paper. Glue as before and trim. See photos:

I made a flip page from a journal card from the "Coincidence" paper cut at 3 x 3 1/4 inches and scored 1/2 on the right side. Adhere on the right edge.

I glued a piece of lace on the edge of my flip page. Then I took the red tab ephemera piece and glued behind my lace. From my stash i added a sticker sentiment on my tab. Underneath I added a photo! Here's a closeup look:

File Folder #2: I made another file folder following the previous steps. I glued this shut but you could make another pocket. Here's the papers I chose.

On the side with the rollar skates, I took a matching roller skates ephemera piece and with foam dots adhered over the same image on my file folder. I glued some lace across the top edge. Added a Prima flower and Finnibair Mechanicals Woodland leaf. Here's a photo:

On the backside, I took the other leftover Tres Jolie Chipboard Butterfly, and using some Tim Holtz Distress Inks from my stash I applied over each butterfly. Then sprinkled some Clear Embossing powder over top of each butterfly. Then heat embossed them. (I used these ink colors: Barn door, Salty Ocean and Mustard Seed) I also cut 3 sentiment words from the leftover border strips!

See photo:

I glued my Chipboard butterfly on the right edge and glued the words on the left side. Here's a photo!

Card # 3: I covered the frontside with a piece of "Boundless " paper. (Red house)

I glued a flower and Finnibair Mechanicals Woodland leaf behind my flower. Here's a photo!

Backside of Card #3: I cut a piece from backside of the same paper, and glued my paper onto my Memory-Dex card. See photo:

I made a pocket cut at 4 x 2 inches and glued in place. See photo:

With foam dots I adhered the Happy ephemera piece onto the front of my pocket. Inside my pocket I added acouple other ephemera pieces and a fussycut teacup! Here's a few photos!

Card #4: Cut from the " Chance" paper with the teacup image on the bottom left corner. I took the Ephemera Teapot piece and cut the remaining ticket out from the remaining piece of paper. See photo:

With foam dots I adhered the teapot over the matching image on my card. I stapled the ticket at the bottom. Here's a finished photo:

Backside of Card #4: I cut a journal card with the birds to fit onto my Memory-Dex card. Glue. From the remaining scrap I fussycut out the Birds of the US piece. See photo:

With foam dots, I adhered along the bottom edge. I glued another Finnibair Mechanicals Woodland leaf behind my sentiment. Here's a photo!

Card #5: I covered my Memory-Dex card with another journal card with the butterfly. See photo:

I fussycut out a small butterfly from the other journal card in the pack. I also fussycut out the camera. I chose this ephemera piece with the bird and pansy. I tore piece from a scrap journal card piece. See photo:

I glued my tore strip along the bottom edge leaving the top open. I glued a ephemera words piece on the leftside. I tucked my ephemera piece and a small photo behind my torn strip. See photo:

Backside of Card #5: I covered my Memory-Dex card with another journal card. See photo:

Take the fussycut camera and with foam dots I adhered at the top. I glued some lace along the bottom edge and glued a flower and ephemera piece on top of my lace trim. Here's a photo!

Now we are all done! You could add more Memory-Dex Cards if you like. If you have a Rolladex you could store your Memory-Dex Cards there! Here's a closeup look at my Wooden box and Memory-Dex Cards!
