Treasure Box and Tag book

Hello Craft Friends! I'm Dana and it's a new month with new kits and projects I hope inspire you!

Today I'll be creating a treasure box and 3 tag booklet. I'm using the September Scrapbook kit from Tres Jolie.

The paper collection this month is Prima "The Plant Department "  it includes some pretty Prima flowers and pack of ephemera from this collection. Also some exclusive chipboards made just for this month's kit.

You can find the "love" chipboard here https://tresjoliekits.com/collections/chipboard/products/titles?variant=37992313520314 New chipboard designs will be added monthly so check the shop to see what's available for purchase.

I'll also be using some items from my crafty stash including Tim Holtz Distress Ink Gathered Twigs, Beacon glue, adhesive tape and foam dots and tape. Stickles glitter Stardust and Dazzle sticker gems.

The box and tags I chose are from Graphic45. I will be applying Distress Ink to the edges of my papers and paper embellishments.

First off, I chose one of the many gorgeous 12x12 papers from the kit to cover the outside and inside of my box. Measurements are listed below:

Top cover: I cut to measure 5 1/8 x 7 & 1/8 leaving about 1/8 inch white border. I adhered to the box cover using foam tape. See photo:

Short sides: measures 4 & 5/8 x 2 & 3/8 inches, cut 2 total

Front and back panels measure 6 & 5/8 x 2 & 3/8 inches

Inside top flap measures 7 & 5/8 x 7 & 1/8 inches. Be sure to use enough adhesive tape on the back so your paper won't buckle once it's adhered to the box flap.

Inside bottom of box measures 6 5/8 x 4 & 7/8

If you want you could cover the inside panels with patterned paper, however I chose to leave mine as they are.

To decorate the top lid of box I adhered a Love heart chipboard piece from Tres Jolie, at the upper left corner. I glued 3 small Prima flowers on the top of my chipboard heart. I fussy cut some images from the various papers (butterflies, and potted plant and acouple  ephemera pieces. I adhered the small butterfly over top of the large butterfly and applied some Stickles Stardust glitter on the wings. I bent the wings upward to create movement. The Plant vase I adhered using foam dots. Then to finish, I applied a few Dazzle stickers! Here's a closeup look:

On the front panel of my box, I glued some white lace (my stash) along the top edge and adhered this blue gold embossed button below the lace. Here's a closeup photo:

Set your box aside for now. Next we can start decorating our 3 tags! The tags measure 3 & 5/8 x 4 & 7/8.

Tag 1: I cut my piece of purple patterned paper and  taking my rounder paper punch(my stash)  I rounded all 4 corners before adhering to my tag base.

Next I tore my paper with the brick image from the bottom of the same paper, inked the edges and adhered with foam dots to add dimension. Here's a photo:

I fussy cut some florals and tiny butterfly from the same paper. I also chose a sentiment piece and peacock from the ephemera pack. I adhered the florals and peacock using foam dots. Here's a photo of my finished tag:

Another closeup:

Tag 2: I cut out the garden door from another paper and using my xaco knife, I cut around the door leaving the left side intact so it would open like a real door. Here's a photo

Behind the door I glued the plant department image from the same paper and glued onto my tag base. Then taking my door piece, I applied some foam tape to the back before adhering, making sure my image shows through the door. I glued one of the Prima flowers to my tag and fussycut out a plant stand from the scrap paper and adhered at the bottom of my tag to create a stopper to hold the door closed using foam dots. I cut out the Roses sentiment and glued on the upper left corner. See photo:

Tag 3: I cut the pink/gold paper with the plants and stands, rounded the corners and glued onto my tag base. I fussy cut some flowers, acouple of plants and stands, then glued in place over the matching images using foam dots. I cut out a section of the archway from the same paper, and adhered on the left side with foam dots. I applied some Stickles Diamond glitter on my flower petals. Here's acoule photos of my tag:

To finish I added the metal ring through my 3 tags and tied together with some purple satin ribbon from my stash, then tied into a bow! Here's a closeup photo:

You can store your tag book into your box and it's finished! I think this would make a nice gift to give a crafty friend or family member. I hope you enjoyed my project today. Thanks for stopping by our blog. Be sure to check back soon and see more projects and inspiration from our Design Team!

Till next week,  Happy Crafting!
