This is Us Desktop Frame

Hi Friends!

Dana here! I have another project to share this week. We'll be creating a Desktop Frame using the Tres Jolie February Scrapbook kit! This kit is loaded! Beautiful papers from 3 Quarter Designs "Meadow Bouquet" collection including these amazing A4 Diecut sheets! You get 2 full sheets of diecuts you punch out and use on a variety of projects! Beautiful Prima flowers and More!

The Wood Desktop Frame from Clear Scraps, I had in my crafty stash.

To begin our project, I took some Folkart Acrylic paint in Cottage White (in my stash)and applied the paint to the This is us letters, making sure I painted along the sides and Frame edges.i applied two coats of paint.  Set aside to dry.

After your piece has dried throughly, I applied some Tim Holtz Distress Ink Rusty Hinge with my ink dabber along the edges of my letters. Set aside for now.

Take the two bottom stands, I covered each stand base with two different coordinating papers. Trace cut and glue your papers to each base. Using a xaco knife (my stash) I trimmed away any excess paper. Then smooth any rough edges using my Distress tool (my stash) make sure you mark and cut both slits on each stand. Distress as you did previously with the stands.

Now glue both bottom base stands together. I recommend using a strong bond glue such as Beacon glue (my stash) set aside to dry.

Take your frame piece and cover with matching paper from your kit. You also could paint, glitter or stamp your frame, if you prefer. I repeated the same steps as we did before with our bases. I also distressed and applied ink around the edges.

I glued a photo behind my frame, then glued my frame to the base.

Slide your base into your bottom stand. You can add some glue to keep in place.

Chipboard pieces: I cut apart 2 of the flower chipboard pieces. I applied some Finnibair Impasto paint " Boudoir Pink" (in my stash) to each flower. Let dry. Then I glued a crystal gem (my stash)in the center of each flower!

Next I decided what embellishments I wanted to add to decorate my frame. I chose some Prima flowers from the kit, and glued along the bottom edge of my stand. Here's a closeup for you!

I punched out a butterfly from the diecut sheet. Bent the wings slightly and glued in the left upper corner on my frame. I applied some Stickles Stardust glitter (my stash) onto the butterfly wings. I also fussycut one of the sentiments from the papers in this kit. I glued along the top edge of my frame. Here's a closeup!

I glued one of my chipboard flowers above the letter "I" and one between the words Is and Us.

Now your frame is ready to display! This would make a great gift idea too! Hope you enjoyed my project today. Thanks for visiting the Tres Jolie blog! Be sure to check back soon and see what beautiful crafty projects Jeanne, Kim and Crystal have in store.

Till next week, Have a Crafty Day!
