Thinking Outside the Card Box: July Mini Album Tutorial (Part 1!)

Hello, crafty friends! Today I'm showing you a fun way to push the boundaries of your monthly kits. Who says a card kit can only make cards?

This month, I took the stunning July Card Kit filled with its gorgeous signature mix of romantic floral patterns and photographic prints and used it to build a custom mini album!

The Design: Layers, Pockets, and Photo Mats

Mini albums are fantastic for documenting small weekend trips, special celebrations, or gifting to a loved one. The pre-designed mini album and papers from 3 Quarter Designs make it incredibly simple to build a cohesive look across multiple pages without needing a massive paper collection.

For this project, I used the mini album to craft a sturdy base structure complete with fold-out flaps and  pocket inserts.

This is Part 1 of a 2-Part Project!

Because this album is packed with interactive details, I am breaking the entire assembly down into a two-part series.

• In today's Part 1 post and tutorial, we are focusing entirely on building the structural base and decorating it.

• Next time in Part 2, we will dive into assembling the pages, and constructing the interactive flip-folds, embellishing, tag-making, and final finishing touches!
