"There's No Place Like Home" Mixed Media Canvas

Hello Craft Friends!

Can you believe July is here already? I hope you saw all the new Tres Jolie July Kits Reveal yesterday. Today I'll be making a Mixed Media Canvas using the Tres Jolie Mixed Media kit. This month's kit has alot of fun Mixed medium products and these brilliant Pigment powders from Pearl Ex!  You receive 4 colored Pigment powders in Spring Green, Pumpkin Orange, Brilliant Yellow and Salmon Pink. They have a beautiful metallic sheen to them. Also included in this kit is Frank Garcia's Memory Hardware Parisian Arch Shutters, Finnibair melange art pebbles in several different sizes, A Wood House base,  A Frantic Stamper Vintage Floral Stencil 6x6 and Ranger's Texture paste-Translucent. I'll be using some items from my stash such as Carta Bella Home Again stickers and ephemera, Prima Marketing flowers, waterbrush, 8x10 canvas, pearls and Clear Gesso. 

To begin I applied a cost of Gesso to my canvas surface. Let dry. Here's a photo:

 While your canvas is drying, I took the wood house and covered it with some paper I had in my stash. I trimmed away any excess paper around the edges. See photo:

Here's how my house wood shape looks after I added my paper:

Now taking my stencil and a palette knife, I applied my Texture paste-Translucent over the top of my stencil onto my house base and around some of the edges on my canvas. Carefully lift your Stencil and let dry throughly before proceeding. Here's acouple photos:

Take your Wood shape house and apply some foam tape onto the backside. See photo:

Adhere your wood house towards the center leaving a small area on the bottom. Here's a photo:

Now we are ready to play with out Pearl Ex Pigment powders and add some color over the top of out wood house stenciled areas. I used a waterbrush to spread my colors. There's no rhyme or reason how you color. Just have fun. Around the top of my canvas I applied some Blue metallic watercolor to resemble the sky. And with a paintbrush.I and some white paint I painted some clouds in a few areas.

Next remove your Memory Hardware Parisian Arch Shutters from the package. Adhere the Shutters towards the bottom of your wood house base. Open both shutters and add a photo inside. See photo:

Now we can start decorating our canvas! I love this part! I chose some papers in my stash from Carta Bella Home Again collection. I thought these matched the Home theme of my project. 

I glued a few Prima flowers on each shutter and tucked some pearls in between my flower petals. I adhered the words "Happy " and "Family " on the top of both Shutters. I glued another Prima flower on the top of the chimney and fussycut butterfly! Here's a closeup:

Take out various sizes of the Finnibair Melange art Diamond pebbles. Taking a waterbrush and some of the Pearl Ex Pigment powders I applied the Pigment powders to the backside of my pebbles. Let dry. 

Now glue your Diamond pebbles in scattered areas on your canvas and wood house. I glued an ephemera piece Homemade with Love on the right side of the roof. Then added a border sticker sentiment at the top and bottom edges. Here's some closeup photos:
