"There's No Place like Home" Display Panel Box
Hello Craft Friends!
Dana here. Can you believe it's November? The month's fly by so quickly. Today I am creating an quick and easy home decor Display box. My theme is "Home" where we all enjoy returning from a long day at work, and enjoy the comfort and security of Home.
To decorate the box, I am using the November Tres Jolie Scrapbook kit. I hope you can order your kit or kits today. The papers in our Scrapbook kit are from Blue Fern Studios. They are one of favorite paper companies. The paper collection is called "House & Home". Here's what in the kit:
12 x12 double sided patterned papers-10 different designs, matching ephemera pack-20 pieces, Journaling card pack-24 cards, Tres Jolie Chipboard clocks-2 piece, Little Birdie flower packs-2 and Buttons Galore sparkle words pack. Here's a photo of the Scrapbook kit:
I also chose these items from my stash: Tim Holtz Idea-ology Display panel, Tres Jolie Chipboard frame https://tresjoliekits.com/collections/chipboard/products/frames, foam dots, Ranger Distress Crayon- Walnut Stain, Ranger Distress Collage medium (from our Mixed Media kit) Tim Holtz Idea-ology Cello Tape, sponge brush, Dew drops Brillance Ink-pearlscent Orchid, Dazzle stickers and Typography letters.
For the base of my project, I used the Tim Holtz Idea-ology Display Wood Panel and flipped it over to the backside.
I cut out several journal cards from the 12x12 sheet of " Housewarming" paper. Then taking a sponge brush and the Collage medium, I applied onto the wood surface and adhered my journal cards across the entire surface. See photos:
I applied another light coat of Collage medium over top of each journal card. Let dry.
Next I took another patterned paper- "Estate" (newspaper side) and cut 4 strips 1 &1/8 x 9" glue onto all 4 outside edges, trim away any excess paper. See photo:
Cut another 4 strips of paper from "Jarden" and glue along all 4 inside edges.From the leftover paper i trimmed the center image to fit inside my display panel. Glue in place. See photos:
Next I chose a Tres Jolie chipboard frame from my stash, you can find them here in the shop: https://tresjoliekits.com/collections/chipboard/products/frames
I took my chipboard frame and centered the cute vintage image inside. Glue your frame in place and added 3 Dazzle gold dot stickers on 3 places on my chipboard frame. Next I chose some flowers, ephemera heart and placed where I wanted them. I added foam dots on the backside of my heart ephemera. Then I glued a small metal key on the left side on my heart. I glued one of the Buttons Galore sparkle words on the top left. See photo:
I took these Tim Holtz idea-ology Typography letters and applied some Dewdrops Brillance Ink-pearlscent Orchid over the top of each letter. Let dry.
After your ink has dried, I glued these letters along the right edge to spell HOME.
I added another 2 ephemera sentiments on the top and bottom inside of my box with foam tape. Here's some photos of my finished project!
