The Courage to Imagine Mixed Media Piece
Hi, everyone.
Today I'm sharing my project that I made using the mixed media kit:
Here's what I came up with:
I started out by adding the metal Mitform pieces to the wood gear, then covered the entire piece with black gesso.
Once mostly dry, I rubbed the metals with a paper towel to expose the metal. Then I added some of the Prima steampunk metal flakes with some gel medium. Before it dried, I repeatedly brushed the flakes to create a distressed look.
After dry, I added some of the green Lindy's mica over all of the metal flakes to create a patina sort of effect. As it dried, I wiped off the mica that wasn't dry.
To complete the look, I added several cut outs from the scrapbook kit, including the green butterfly. I also added a TIm Holtz quote stamp.
Thanks for stopping by the blog! Check back next week- I'll have a video tutorial on how I used these mica flakes on chipboard.
