Sweet Little Mixed Media House
Are you looking to add a unique touch to your art projects? Creating a mixed media project with a house shape made of MDF and pigment powders can be a fun and creative way to express your artistic vision. Follow these steps to bring your project to life.
Step 1: Gather Your Materials
Before you begin, make sure you have all the necessary materials on hand. You will need the house-shaped MDF cutout, pigment powders in various colors, a paintbrush, adhesive, and a protective sealant. I love that the mixed media kits come with so many fun products to try!
Step 2: Let’s Create Patterned Papers
I wanted to spend some time getting to know the pigment powders. I used both white craft paint as well as some pouring medium that I had on hand. I grabbed my handy braver and some printer paper and rolled out lots of pieces so I would have a nice variety.
Step 3: Let’s Trace the House
This house shape is super easy to trace. I laid the mdf piece on top of my different papers and cut them to size. A bit of adhesive and my background was all set.
Step 4: Time for a Bit of Dimension
We have a gorgeous stencil in our kit. I thought it would perfect to create a little flower garden for our little house. The Modeling Paste was perfect!
Step 5: Let’s Finish With Some Detail Work
I grabbed some markets to create a bit of depth and dimension. I love how this project turned out!
Creating a mixed media project with a house shape made of MDF and pigment powders allows you to explore your creativity and experiment with different artistic techniques. Follow these steps to create a one-of-a-kind piece that showcases your unique style and vision.
