Steampunk Treat Tote Box and Card

Hello Crafty Peeps!

Dana here! Hope you are all having a Safe and Healthy New Year!

Today I have a fun project for you! I'll be creating these fun Treat Tote Boxes, that i think would be a nice surprise to send a special friend or family member. Ill also be making a matching Gift tag and Card!

To create this project, I'm using the Tres Jolie January Cards Tags and More kit! The paper collection in the kit is filled with Steampunk styled papers from Ciao Bella "Espirit De Voyage " collection. You get 8x8 paper pad, Prima Marketing Engraved Alphabet Stickers, Prima's Frank Garcia's Memory Hardware Album, Tres Jolie Steampunk gears and Butterfly Chipboards, 3 small blue dollies, Finnibair Antique Cloches, Prima Marketing Flower packs- 2, Prima Marketing Crystals and Kaiser Craft pearl gems!

Here's a photo of this month's Card Tags and More kit:

From my stash I'm using Foam tape and dots, Brown Cardstock, Cream card base, Tim Holtz Distress Ink Gathered Twigs, xaco knife, jute cord, cellophane bag, Copper ink and Copper Embossing powder, and heat tool. You'll also need 2 Tres Jolie Chipboard Tags https://tresjoliekits.com/collections/chipboard/products/miscellaneous

We will begin by creating our Tote Box. I took a 8 & 1/2 x 11 piece of brown cardstock

and cut to measure 7 & 5/8 x 9 inches. Score at inches on all 4 sides. See photo:

Now cut a narrow "V "shape cut up to the 2" score line on all 4 corners. See photo:

Fold and glue each corner to form your tote box. See photos:

Here's how your Tote box will look after gluing all 4 sides together.

Take your 2 Tres Jolie Chipboard Tags

I covered the front and back on each tag with several different patterned papers. Remember to mark and punch your holes on each tag before gluing your paper in place. See photos:

 Front of Tag #1

Backside of Tag #1: leave the bottom backside of tag bare.

Tag #2 Front: and backside cover with patterned papers as we did on Tag #1, punch hole.

Tag #1 I cut Out a small journal card and with foam dots on the backside I adhered in the center front on my tag. Next I took one of the Tres Jolie Steampunk Chipboard gears, and covered with scrap paper. The leftover inside circle from my Chipboard gear, I also covered with leftover scrap paper.

I trimmed around each gear using my xaco knife. Then applied Distress ink along the edges. I glued my Chipboard gear along the bottom edge on the front of my tag. I glued a Prima blue flower at the top of my journal card and added a few blue pearls from the kit. I tied some jute cord through the hole at the top of my tag. Add adhesive to the bottom inside portion of your Chipboard tag and glue on one end of your tote box. Make sure it's even with The bottom edge of your box. Here's a finished photo:

Tag #2: I fussycut out the hot air balloon from one of the papers and adhered in the center using foam dots. This adds dimension. I glued a light blue Prima marketing flower on my hot air balloon. I tied some jute cord through the hole on my tag as we did previously. To finish I added some Prima crystals! Glue your chipboard tag onto the other end on your tote box. See photo:

Now we can start decorating the two outside panels on our box. You could add patterned paper inside the bottom of your box if you like. I left mine plain. To decorate the outside panels I cut a scrap piece of patterned paper to fit onto the front side of my box. Glue in place. Then taking the Prima Alphabet Stickers I spelled the words "treat" and adhered on the front side. See photo:

On the other side panel, I cut one of the small blue dollies in half. Then glued on the side. See photo:

I cut out a small butterfly journal card and glued in the center and acouple Prima Flowers from this kit! Here's a photo:

Set your Tote treat box aside for now. Take the Tres Jolie chipboard Steampunk Butterfly from your kit. I covered the top of my butterfly with Copper ink and sprinkled some Copper Embossing powder over the top. Shake off any excess embossing powder and heat emboss with a heat tool. On the butterfly body, i just applied some Brown ink. Let dry. See photo:

Set your Tres Jolie Chipboard Steampunk butterfly aside.

Next I will be creating a card and matching gift tag for our Tote Box.

To create my card, I took a cream card measuring 5 & 1/2 x 4 & 1/4 inches. I chose a patterned paper and cut it at 5 x 4 inches and adhered to the front of my card. See photo:

I cut out one of the butterfly stamps from the paper collection, I also cut apart one of the sentiment pieces (spread your wings) and took the Chipboard butterfly we decorated previously. see photo:

I glued my Chipboard butterfly slightly titled on the left side of my card front. I glued my sentiment below, with foam dots I adhered my butterfly stamp. Then applied two blue pearls on each side of my sentiment. Here's some photos of my finished card:

To make a small gift tag, I took a white tag from my stash and cut a scrap piece of paper and glued onto the front of my gift tag. On the backside I cut out a small journal card and adhered on the backside. See photos:

On the front of my gift tag, I glued a Prima flower,  some blue pearls and taking some of the Prima Alphabet Stickers I spelled " For you" on the tag front. Here's a photo:

Now we can add treats to the inside of our Tote Box. I added some tiny chocolate bars, hot cocoa, Mexican candy and a granola bar! There are so many treats you can add or chose from. I tucked my cards inside my box.

Here's a look at mine:

To finish, I took a cellophane wrapper from a 12x12 package I had from one of my paper collections. I slipped my Tote box inside and tied some jute cord around the top, I thread my gift tag onto my cord before tieing. Here's a photo:

There you have a Tote Treats Box to give to that special someone! I think these would be fun to make for different occasions or holidays!
