Springtime Vintage Mixed Media Tags

Hello Crafters!

I'm back on the Tres Jolie blog sharing some Springtime Vintage Tags I created using the April Mixed Media kit from Tres Jolie! You'll receive 3 sturdy Tres Jolie Chipboard Tags https://tresjoliekits.com/collections/chipboard/products/miscellaneous  that are able to withhold any mixed medium you chose. You'll have fun using the Cosmic Shimmer Shakers (you get 4 different colors) and create amazing colored textured backgrounds on your tags, with this Prima marketing Finnibair Resist Canvas! In addition you'll also receive Finnibair Mica Flakes-Henna.

I'll also be using some items from my stash: patterned leftover papers, gems, foam dots and tape, tulle, ruffle trim, ribbon and Prima marketing flowers. From this month's Card Tags and More kit, I'll be using the Prima marketing Say it in Crystals pack and one of the Clear adhesive pockets, sequins, silver confetti, Frank Garcia's Meil journal card, tiny flowers and gem, Prima marketing Watercolor Floral journal card and ephemera.

To begin I took my Resist Canvas and traced all 3 chipboard tags onto the backside. Cut them out and glue each Resist canvas piece to the front of your chipboard tag.

On one of my tags, I cut out a 4 x 6 & 1/2  inch piece from the Resist canvas. Set two tags aside for now.

Tag 1: I took a spray water bottle from my crafty stash and spritz water onto part of my tag. Then taking the Cosmic Shimmer Shakers in Lush Pink and Ice Blue, I sprinkled a small amount of powder one color at a time onto my chipboard tag. Using a waterbrush (my stash) I spread the Cosmic Shimmer Shaker powder. I worked in small areas at a time. You can add more Shimmer Shaker powder to create a darker background. Here's a photo of how my tag looks after applying the Cosmic Shimmer Shaker powders.

Next I took some scraps from a Mintay "Happy Place" and fussycut some images ( small butterfly, hot air balloon, and blue bird  decorate my chipboard tag.

I applied foam dots to the back of my hot air balloon image before adhering towards the top of my tag. On the bottom edge I adhered a chipboard sticker sentiment, the small butterfly and blue bird. I glued some Prima flowers/leaf  along the bottom edge. I added some Prima crystals (my stash) in scattered areas. I tied some light pink and baby blue tulle through the hole on my tag and tied into a bow. Here's my finished tag:

 Tag 2 Shaker Tag:

I applied Cosmic Shimmer Shakers in Deep Purple and Gun Metal to my tag surface as we did previously with our first tag. Here's a photo:

Take one of the Clear adhesive pockets from the April Cards Tags and More kit, I trimmed down a small Journaling card and slid this into my pocket, see photo:

I filled the inside of my shaker pocket with some silver confetti and clear sequins from my stash.I added a strip of adhesive tape along the inside top edge. Peel and seal to close.

I glued a fussycut butterfly from a scrap paper and glued on the outside upper left corner on my pocket. I added a piece of washi tape (from my stash) over top of my Clear pocket. On the bottom edge of my tag, I applied a ephemera floral piece (from my stash) using foam dots. I tied some purple ribbon through the hole at the top of my tag and glued a blue bow ephemera piece and purple gem in the center of my bow. Here's some photos of how my tag looks:

Tag 3: On the Resist canvas piece i applied some Cosmic Shimmer Shakers in Lush Pink and Ice Blue as we did previously on our first tag. From scrap paper I cut two pieces measuring 4 x 2 inches and glued at the top and bottom edges.  Remember to punch out the hole at the top before adhering.

Now glue your Resist canvas piece in place. Taking a journal card from my stash (Frank Garcia's Meil collection) I added foam dots on the back and adhered to the center of my tag. Taking a few small Prima flowers from this same collection, I glued on the right lower corner on my journal card. I applied some Stickles Stardust glitter on the flowers in the little girl's head. Taking one of the Prima Say it in Crystals circle gems I adhered around the top hole on my tag. See photo:

On the bottom edge of my tag, I glued a ruffle trim and pearls. I tied some Tulle through the hole on the top of my tag and glued a crystal gem in place. Here's my finished tag:
