Spring Floral Pocket Tag Cards

Hello Everyone!

It's Dana here. Happy April! I definitely have Spring fever! I thought I'd create some Springtime cards today to kick off the Spring season. I'm using our newest April Cards Tags and More kit from Tres Jolie!

The papers are from Lemon Craft "Happiness" collection. You get both the 6x8 and 8x8 pads! Such a great value. They are so bright and cheerful with an array of florals. Our April Card kit includes Memento "Bamboo Leaves" dye ink, American Crafts "Kelly Creates" traceable sentiment stamps and Scrapberry flowers!

I'll be using some items from my crafty stash including Tim Holtz Distress Ink Gathered Twigs, Stickles Stardust and Diamond glitter, Crystal gems, sequins, foam tape, pink ribbon.

The cards I'm making today measure 4 1/4 x 5 &1/2 inches. I'm inking all my papers and fuzzy cut elements.

Card 1: I chose a patterned paper and cut to measure 4 &1/8 x 5 &1/4 inches. Ink your paper and adhere onto the front of your card base, lining the paper to the along the top fold leaving 1/8 inch of white card showing around the sides and bottom edge. I took one of the sentiment stamps and using the momento bamboo ink, I stamped my sentiment in the center of my card base.

Next taking one of my leftover Scraps of paper, I fuzzy cut out this floral border, inked along the edges and adhered at the top of my card using foam tape. Then I added a few green crystal gems scattered on the front of my card. Here's acouple closeup photos!

Now cut out one of the pockets, matching mini tag, bow, sentiment and butterfly from some of the element sheets. Open up the inside of your card and lay flat. Take your pocket piece and score at 3/8 inches, fold and glue the bottom and both sides together to form a pocket.

Glue your pocket on the inside bottom section of your card. Punch a hole at the top of your tag. Thread some pink ribbon through the hole on your tag and tie into a knot. Tuck your tag inside your pocket. I decorated the front of my pocket, with a butterfly, sentiment and bow. You can bend your butterfly wings slightly upward and add alittle Stickles Stardust glitter to the wings to add some Sparkle! Here's some closeups!

Card 2: I chose another patterned paper and repeated the previous steps but this time I adhered some foam tape to the back of my paper before adhering to my card front.

This adds some dimension. I fussy cut out a butterfly, leaves/stem and sentiment. I adhered onto the front of my card. I also took two of the tiny green flowers and glued on my leaf image on the leftside. To finish i added some more Stickles Stardust glitter to my butterfly wings! Here's some photos!

Open your card and as we did with our previous card, I fussy cut out another pocket, sentiment, tag, and green bow. I adhered my bow to the front of my pocket. Glued a sentiment on my mini tag and some pink ribbon at the top!  These pockets hold room for a gift card inside if you like. Here's some photo!

Card 3: Chose another patterned paper to decorate the front of your card. I used foam tape on the back before adhering vertically onto my card base.

Taking some scalloped dies from my stash, I fuzzy cut out acouple circle elements and scrap piece of paper, and diecut out 3 different size scalloped shapes. I glued the largest scalloped piece in the center of my card. Then adhered the other smaller pieces using foam dots and layered them on top of each other. I fuzzy cut out a few leaves and tucked behind my scalloped piece. Then I cut out a sentiment and glued at the top of my card. And glued a few light green sequins from my stash, onto my card. Here's acouple closeups!

Open up your card, taking a longer scrap piece measuring 8 x 2 & 3/4 inches, score at 4 inches, fold and glue as a flip page on the inside of your card at the bottom. Here's a photo!

I cut out another sentiment piece and glue along the bottom of my flip page.

Here's how the inside flip page looks:

The flip page has room to write a message inside or even a photo!

To finish this card, I applied some Stickles Diamond glitter on my scalloped flower on the front.

I hope you enjoyed my project and will be inspired to create some of your own cards to send to a special friend or family member.

I'll be back next week, with another project for you! Thanks for visiting the Tres Jolie blog. Check back often and see what pretty crafty makes Kim, Jeanne and Crystal have in store just for you!

Have a crafty week!
