Hi Crafty Friends! I'm back on the blog to share my latest project for Tres Jolie using products from the
May Cards, Tags, and More Kit and from the
May Mixed Media Kit. I have created these (4) Double Sided Shabby Coaster Set in less than an hour. So if you need to create a quick gift for someone then these are something you can make. Even though there is nothing really to it but I thought I would share with you how I made mine.
I began by painting the Dress My Craft Wooden Coaster Set using Folk Art Vintage White Acrylic Paint using a foam brush. I painted one side completely then on the other side I painted around the edges. Once they dried, I changed my mind from only adding paper one one side only. So I decided I would make them double sided.
So next I selected my papers, you might notice a pattern that isn't in the paper pad, this is because I have this collection in my stash and I just thought I would change up one on of the coasters with left over paper I had already cut.
I then cut the papers I selected into 4x4 squares, I then used my 1/4 inch side corner punch from We R Memory Keepers.
Next I adhered them onto the coasters using Helmar Tacky Glue and used my brayer to make sure they don't get air bubbles. I did this to both sides, I did use my heat tool to quickly dry them and once they cooled of a little I got the sticker sheet from the Bo Bunny Garden Grove collection and added some on one side of the coasters. I then took some Deco Art Americana Decoupage Sealant which is the same as Mod Podge and I brushed it on with a foam brush, this leaves less brush lines. I then used my heat tool from afar to dry it. I did seal both sides. This pretty much is finished. These can be used as coasters of course but mine will be a part of my room decor.
I hope that you will create these, you can use any paper that you like. Father's Day is coming up soon and this would be a great gift!
