Shimmer and Shine Mixed Media Tag Cards

Hello Craft Friends!

Dana here! I hope it's been a fun and inspirational month! Today I'll be sharing my last project for September! Hard to believe October is just around the corner! But that means more inspiring and beautiful kits and our Reveal day aren't far away!

I will be creating some Mixed Media Tag Cards using the Tres Jolie September Mixed Media kit! I hope you got to order a kit or two. If not there's still time to visit our Tres Jolie shop and grab a kit today.

The September Mixed Media kit includes the following: Ranger/ Simon Hurley Astro Paste- Frostbite, and 3 Solar Sprays- Pity Party, Deep End and Golden Hour! These sprays add a nice glistening shimmer! Also included are Dina Wakley Media assorted tags in 2 different sizes, and TCW 6x8 Stencil-Mini Capricious. Here's a photo of this month's kit:

For my project, I will be sharing 4 different ways you can use these sprays and tags!

From my stash i am using: foam dots, Prima Marketing Watercolor confections, Gingham Garden paper, sequins and clear stickers, palette knife, Epoxy button, Waterproof black ink, diecut sentiment, waterbrush ribbon Memento Bamboo Leaves ink,  flower and heart stamps, and 3 white card bases. ( Card bases measure 4 & 1/4 x 5 & 1/2 inches)

Card/Tag #1: I took one of the larger tags in the kit. I taped my stencil along the bottom edge. I applied some Astro Paste on the bottom half on my tag. I carefully peeled off the stencil. Dry with heat tool. Then I took the Golden Hour Solar Spray and sprayed over the top half. Here's acouple photos:

Set your tag aside. Taking my white card, I cut a piece of pastel pink/purple paper (my stash)to measure 4 & 1/2 x 5 & 1/2 inches. Adhere your paper onto your card base. You can use any patterned papers you have in your stash. See photo:

I took a piece of lace from a previous Tres Jolie Kit and glued along the leftside of my card. Set your card aside.

Now take your tag, and using a floral stamp and black ink I stamped this flower towards the top of my tag. See photo:

Now taking a waterbrush and Prima Watercolor confections pastels, I applied some watercolor on my flower petals and center of my flower. Here's a photo:

You could color your flower using colored pencils or markers. Use whatever you have.

Now apply foam dots on the back of your tag. Then adhere to the front of your card at a slight angle. I added a pearl gem from my stash over the hole on my tag. I stamped a sentiment below my flower. Here's my finished card:

Card#2: I took an embossing folder from my stash and slid the top of my card inside my embossing folder. Then I ran it through my diecut machine. I also diecut a sentiment piece from a die I had in my stash. Here's a photo of my embossed hearts:

I took my Solar Sprays- Pity Party and Deep End and spray acouple coats, drying  each layer separately and adding another layer of Solar Spray color. Note: the shimmer is more vibrant in real time. You can tilt it towards the light and see a rainbow of color! You can mix up these sprays however you like or just use one color at a time. It's totally up to you!

Here's a photo:

I took my black ink and stamped 2 hearts and added some watercolor pastel pink and lilac. I did decide not to use the small love stamped heart.See photo:

I cut out my 2 hearts and with foam dots I adhered to the front of my card. One heart at the top and one towards the bottom both tilted slightly. I glued my sentiment in the center! Here's a finished photo:

Card/Tag #3: Taking another tag I taped my stencil in place.

I took Pity Party Solar Spray and sprayed over my stencil pattern. Lift off. See photo:

Set your tag aside. I cut a patterned paper same size as instructed previously. Then inked along the edges of my paper using Memento Bamboo Leaves ink. Then glue your paper to the front of my card. See photo:

I adhered my tag at a slight angle using foam dots to add dimension. I applied some Clear stickers, and sequins scattered areas on my tag. And finish adding an epoxy button on the top hole on my tag. Here's a photo:

Card/Tag #4: I chose another tag from the kit and taped my stencil onto my tag siurface. Then using my pallet knife i applied some Simon Hurley Astro Paste. See photo:

Carefully lift off your stencil and let dry or dry with a heat tool.

Next I took my Solar Spray Golden Hour and sprayed over the top of my tag. You can spray more than one layer of color, but let dry in between. See photo:

I covered the base of my card with another patterned paper from Gingham Garden cut the same size as instructed previously.

Glue in place. With foam dots I added my Tag slightly titled onto my card.

I added some washi tape along the bottom edge of my tag, tucked some ephemera leaves behind my tag. Then added a ephemera flower in the center of my tag, and a heart chipboard sticker heart over the top hole on my tag. I finished it by gluing a few gold sequins onto my tag! Here's how my card looks:

OurCards are finished and ready to send to a special friend or family member. I hope you'll give these sprays a try and order your kit before they are gone!
