Shaker and Easel Greeting Cards

Hi Craft Friends!

Dana here! Can't believe April is upon us! I'm looking forward to the Spring season and milder weather. April brings several new kits from Tres Jolie! I think you are going to love them all! Be sure to purchase your kits early before they are gone! I'll post a link at the bottom where you can order your kits or join our Monthly subscription so you won't miss out.

Today we'll be creating acouple different shaker cards (I love Shakers don't you?) Plus an easel card that sure to delight any recipient. I'm using the new Tres Jolie Cards Tags and More kit. It includes a whole 6.5 x 6.5 paper pad from Couture Creations Vintage Tea Collection and matching Ephemera pack, Frank Garcia's Memory Hardware Tiny Album (I'll be creating this tiny album in a future blog post) so stay tuned. Prima marketing flowers Crystal Palace Starburst,Prima Marketing Say it in Crystals pack,  Prima Hello Pastel Trinkets, 6 Adhesive Shaker pockets and Tres Jolie Teacup chipboard(exclusive to this kit) Here's a photo of the kit:

I'll also be using some items from my stash such as foam tape and dots, sequins, Liquid pearls White Pearl, Prima Say it in Crystals swirl gems, several dies, Stickles Stardust and Diamond glitter, Rub on sentiment, Copper glitter washi tape, white card bases 6x6 and 5x5 and white and mauve cardstock for diecutting, white lace, Distress Ink Gathered Twigs, Spectrum Noir Sparkle Inks in Cosmos, Moonstone and Amethyst, paintbrush.

Card 1: (Shaker) To begin I took a 6x6 white card base, one of the floral pattern papers from the kit and one of the adhesive shaker pockets.

Taking a frame die and some mauve cardstock, I die cut a frame piece using my diecutting machine.

Take your floral paper  and score 1/2  at the top. Fold and glue the 1/2 scored area along the backside of your card at the top.to your card base. See photo:

Now take your shaker pocket, and fill the inside with sequins, beads, confetti or whatever you wish. Using adhesive tape I carefully adhered the tape along the inside top edge. Press to deal shut. See photo:

Peel off the adhesive from the back of your shaker pocket and adhere to the center front of your card. Glue your diecut frame over the top. Then I took a rub-on sentiment from my stash and adhered onto the outside of my shaker pocket. See photo:

Next I cut out one of the sentiment squares from the back of the paper pad. I cut the sentiment in half and inked along the edges using Distress Ink Gathered Twigs from my stash. I glued Wishing you...sentiment on the bottom left corner. Save the other portion of your sentiment for the inside. I took several ephemera floral images and leaves, then using foam dots I adhered onto the front of my card. Here's some photo of my finished card:

On the inside of this card, I glued one of the border strips on the inside right edge. I glued the other part of the sentiment on top of my border strip and I snipped off one of the crystal stars from my Prima flower stem and with hot glue, I adhered above my sentiment. Here a closeup:

Card 2: Easel

Cut a 12 x 6 inch of white cardstock. Score at 3"and 6". Fold and crease.

Cut another 6x6 white card piece. Then glue a patterned paper onto your 6x6 card. Glue this piece to the front 6x3 inch flap of your easel card. Set aside.

Taking some pink striped paper from my stash, I cut to measure 6x6. Then glued to the bottom easel card base. From the same paper, I cut 3  6x3 inch pieces and glued to the inside top panels on my easel card and on the backside. Set aside for now. Here's some photos:

Next I took a border die and diecut from white cardstock. I glued along the bottom inside edge of my easel card. Here's a closeup:

I took one of the ephemera floral images and using foam tape I adhered slightly above my diecut border to create a stopper for my easel card to stand up. I glued some lace along the bottom edge of my easel card front. Here's a closeup:

Set your easel card aside. Now take out your Tres Jolie Teacup chipboard out of your package. You can color your chipboard using inks, paint glitter. I am using some Spectrum Noir Sparkle Inks and applying several colored inks over the top of each chipboard teacup using a paintbrush.I  applied acouple of coats. I left the handles on my teacups as they are. After my Ink has dried, I applied some Liquid pearls White Opal onto the dots on the top chipboard teacup. Let dry.

After your chipboard teacup piece is dry, add some foam tape to the backside to add dimension, and adhere towards the bottom left edge. I added a Prima crystal gem swirls above my chipboard teacups to resemble steam coming from my hot tea!

Taking another die in my stash, i diecut a sentiment "You're just my cup of tea" from leftover white cardstock and glued on the front right side of my card.

See photo:

On the inside I added a sentiment from the paper pad. Here's a closeup look:

My finished card:

Card 3 Shaker: this card has a 5x5 white card base. Taking some of the leftover border strips from our papers, I matched then up and trimmed to fit along the outside edge of my card. I also mitered each corner to give it a finished look:

As we did previously with our other shaker pocket, I filled with sequins and carefully glued a sentiment square inside my pocket before closing securely with adhesive tape. I fussycut a border image from leftover scrap paper and inked the edges.  Here's a photo:

Taking some glitter washi tape I adhered around the edges of my card front. Here's a closeup:

Using foam tape I adhered my floral border at the top edge of my card. I took a flower and leaf from the ephemera pack and adhered with foam dots on the bottom right corner. Here's my finished card:
