Shabby Love Fest Mood & Sketch Challenge
Hello Crafty Friends! Jeanne here back this week to share with you what I have created. I decided I would create something for this month's Mood Board and Sketch Challenge for Tres Jolie!
I was inspired to do this project for many reasons, I love anything and everything shabby chic, I love pink, February is a romantic month, and of course I knew the photos of my grand babies would look great on this layout.
I began by choosing the paper I would be using as my base, while going thru my stash I came across a previous kit from Tres Jolie which included a 12x12 paper pad from Lemoncraft "Yesterday" . This kit is absolutely stunning! It had the perfect paper I was looking for! Especially the top tan/white lace like paper.
So I began by using some of the Ranger Embossing Powder (Bubbly) from the December 2022 Mixed Media Kit, around the edges of the paper. I actually brushed it on to make it look a little distressed. While that cooled off, I took the tan/white paper and cut it at 8.5 X 10.5, I cut it at this size since I would be using a doily border punch around the paper. Next I used the Tim Holtz Worn Lipstick Distress ink lightly around the edge of that paper. I then adhered it on to the base paper using Fabri tac clear adhesive ( my favorite too)!
Before proceeding, I set this aside and I take the resin frames that came in the February Cards, Tags & more kit and I went over them with Prima Marketing Finnabair Heavy Gesso. I then painted the oval and smaller rectangular one using Finnabair Dusty Rose Impasto Paint mixed with the Finnabair Liquid Color Fluid Medium. I did the same with the Spellbinders A Gilded Life Metal Chandelier.
I painted the larger rectangular frame using Finnabair Snow White Impasto Paint.
I also took the Tres Jolie Scroll Set #3 chipboard and used the same embossing powder as I used on the edges of the base paper.
Next I took some of the cut out sheets that contain flowers from the February Scrapbook Kit as well as the beautiful pattern paper that I made into a tag. I added some pink seam binding & fibers, a bulb shaped gourd pin with a heart key from Frank Garcia Magic Love collection and a miniature dangle key set that I had previously painted in Folk Art Vintage White acrylic paint. Then I took some foam tape and added it to the tag I made and adhered it down. I then added a beautiful lace along the side of the tan/white paper.
Next I took the photos I had already printed of my little beauties, my granddaughters and adhered them to cardstock then onto some frames that were part of the cut out sheets from this month's Scrapbook Kit.
I began adding the paper flower cut outs and beautiful fabric flowers from this month's Scrapbook Kit, adding some cheese cloth in between them. I added the embossed chipboard scroll and added more flowers around it. I then added a little bit of ultra fine glitter and pearls around the flowers. Then I added the girl ephemera from the cut out sheet too. Lastly I added some sequins mix in the mini chandelier and a tiny bow on it as well. I had the small pink heart in my ephemera stash so thought it would go with this.
I really tried to focus on the beautiful Mood Board/Sketch Challenge and create it how I view it. I do hope that I did a good job with it. I feel like I did!
I hope that if you haven't joined this challenge, you still have time. It doesn't end until the 28th of Feb. You can see down below the rules. I'm excited to see what you all create!!
