Shabby Christmas Stocking

Merry Christmas everyone,

It's Deb here with another great project using the beautiful Wooden Christmas Stocking from the December Mixed Media Kit from Tres Jolie. If you haven't seen this kit you have to check it out. This is just so fun to create and definitely adds to Joy to the rest of your Christmas decor. You can add this to a wreath, use as a door hanging decor, have it stand alone on the mantel, so many ways to use this beautiful stocking.

Here is the video tutorial for you which gives a little more details.

Are you ready to get started on this fun project. It's so super easy to create. Below are the supplies that come in the December Mixed Media Kit. I also used items from my stash.

First I traced around the stocking on my pattern paper.
I cut the paper stocking out and adhered down.
Next I turned over to cut off any excess paper.
To smooth out the edges I used a fingernail file around the paper.
Next I painted the stocking ends and the top of the stocking white.
I also painted above the papered portion of the stocking white.
Next add glue to the rounded leaves and get out the Lindysgang glitzy magical gleaming gold, its the gold powder from the December Mixed Media Kit.
After adding the glue scoop up the gold powder and sprinkle onto the glue.
Next spread out with the paint brush or your fingers. I did both. You will also do the same steps for the top rounded leaves.
Now we will be using the diamond shimmer dust that comes in the kit. Add glue to the pine branches.
Then sprinkle the Diamond Shimmer Dust on top.

Here is what the top of the stocking should look like. Isn't it so pretty with the white and gold.
For the word JOY I used the Lumiere Magenta drops and brushed it around the word. Then I added some pink paint.
I also painted berries, candy cane and poinsettia pink. I them added some glue to top of each piece and sprinkled on the Diamond Shimmer Dust. This dries really fast.
Next we are gonna add some white flock (from my stash) to the top of the stocking piece, just in the middle area, and add the flock to the stocking end pieces we painted white.

I then adhered on the top piece and arranged other pieces on top of the stocking and adhered down.

I also added gold stickels around the stocking ends and the top.

I hope you enjoyed today's Christmas tutorial. I sure had fun creating this beautiful Shabby Christmas Stocking for you all. Here is the link to the December Mixed Media Kit.
I wish you all a Merry Christmas and I will see you again soon. Take Care.
Hugs & Happy Crafting
