Shabby Chic Vintage Album

Hi Craft Friends! I'm Dana and I'm back with another project idea that I hope you'll like. I love Shabby Chic vintage style! So today's project I'm creating an album using our July Scrapbook kit from Tres Jolie! This kit is another fabulous kit aimed to please any scrapbooker or paper crafter! The Designer paper kit features Simple Stories Vintage Essentials 12x12 papers, Ephemera and Captured Bits pack, Rub-ons package, some amazing chipboards from Tres Jolie! That's not all! Of course lots of beautiful flowers from Little Birdie! Grab your kit today before they disappear!

In addition I'll be using some matching products from this collection and some items from my crafty stash! These include: Chipboard album, Type Keys Foam Stickers, washi tapes, Take Notes Bits, foam dots and tape, lace trim, Prima metal embellishment, beaded trim, and pearls. I will be inking all my papers and embellishments using Tim Holtz Distress Ink Gathered Twigs (my stash)

To begin our project, I applied some Folkart Vintage White acrylic paint along the outside and inside album pages (about 1 inch) let dry.

Next I chose a variety of different patterned papers to cover all pages of my album, including the front and back cover and side. I cut my papers to measure:

Front & Back Cover: cut 2 @ 5x7

Side panel: 7 x 1 & 1/2

Inside front and back inside pages: 5x7

All other pages: 4 & 3/4 x 6 & 3/4

Front cover photo:

Then I cut another coordinating paper to measure 4 & 1/2 x 6 & 1/2 and adhered on the front cover using foam tape.

Taking some lace trim (my stash) I glued a 7 inch piece along the left side over the binding. Then glued a string of pearls on top of my lace.

Set aside your album for now. Taking a Tres Jolie chipboard frame I applied some Gliding Wax Renaissance Gold to the surface of the front of my frame. This gives a nice brass aged look to your frame!

Then I took a photo and glued to the back of my chipboard frame see photo:

I adhered my chipboard frame onto my front cover using foam tape. Then I took and arranged a variety of different flowers from the kit and glued them around the bottom edge of my frame and album cover. I tucked a tiny heart Ephemera in between my flower petals and added a few white pearls and applied some Glitterific Gold flakes (my stash)onto some of my flower petals. I finished by adding a Photograph sentiment at the top! Here's some closeup photos!

Page 1: (back of front cover) I matted my photo at an angle onto a Notes and Bits piece and adhered to my page. I added a sentiment at the top!

Page 2: I glued another ephemera piece to my page. This is a great place to journal or add another photo! Here's a closeup look!

Page 3: I layered a library card from the Take Notes and Bits pack. I stapled a ticket stub onto the newspaper clippings paper and adhered on my page using foam dots. I glued a sentiment at the top.

Page 4: I created a flip page measuring 4x5 inches, scored 1/2 inch at the top and adhered to my page. I added some butterfly washi tape at the bottom. Taking a black Tres Jolie chipboard piece I cut in half and glued on my flip page. I glued a Love sentiment on top of my chipboard leaves. You could add a photo underneath your flip page if you desire. Here's some closeups!

Page 5: I didn't add anything to this page. But you could add a photo or Journaling piece.

Page 6: I cut a flip page measuring 4 & 5/8 x 6 &1/4 inches. Scored 1/2 inch on the left side and adhered to the left edge of my page. I added some Type Keys Foam Stickers "My Story" and a Typewriter card from the Take Notes pack and adhered on top of my flip page. I glued a photo underneath my flip page. Here's some closeups!

Page 7: I matted a photo onto a small tag from the ephemera pack and adhered towards the bottom of my page. Then glued a Lovely sentiment at the top.

Page 8: I glued another small tag and tiny star from Captured Bits pack. I adhered some Tim Holtz mini paper dolls on the side of my tag.

Page 9: i glued this Captured Bits photo mat and my photo to the page. I glued a sentiment at the top. Then applied some of the Rub-ons included in this kit.

Page 10: I cut a newspaper scrap paper  measuring 4 & 3/4 x 2 & 5/8 inches and adhered as a pocket. I tucked a few Take Notes Bits pieces into my pocket. Glued a sentiment at the top. Here's a photo!

Page 11: I created a side pocket measuring 6 & 3/4 x 2 & 1/2 inches, and glued on the left side of my page. Using foam dots I adhered a note paper and pen from the Notes Bits pack. I tucked some ephemera and and tag into my side pocket.

Page 12: I glued a envelope ephemera piece to my page, then added a small photo and sentiment. Here's a closeup!

Page 13: I made a side flip page measuring 4x6 3/4 inches, scored 1/2 inch on the left and adhered on the left side. I applied some washi tape over the 1/2 inch score line. Using foam dots I adhered a sentiment piece from the Captured Bits pack and adhered on the top. I added a photo underneath.

To finish I glued a metal embellishment on the outside of my album binding. This was a piece I had in my craft stash. Here's a photo!
