Shabby Chic Stuffed Envelopes and Greeting Card
Hello Craft Friends!
Thank you for visiting our Tres Jolie blog today! My name is Dana. Today I'll be creating some Shabby Stuffed Envelopes! I think these are perfect for Swaps or just a nice surprise to give a Crafty friend! You can create different styles of Stuffed Envelopes for holidays and special occasions.
To make these Stuffed Envelopes i will be using Tres Jolie July Scrapbook kit! The paper collection this month is Craft 'O' Clock "Touch of Nostalgia" and includes Doublesided 12x12 patterned papers and Tres Jolie Chipboard Hearts and Swirls-2 pc, white lace trim, Prima Marketing Flowers and Little Birdie flowers. Plus Scrapberry's "French Journey " Resin pack. These are perfect to use as is or add color to them with inks, paints and spray. Here's a photo of the July Scrapbook kit:
From my stash I'm using: WeR memory keepers Envelope Punch Board, 2 white Dollies, Tres Jolie Chipboard small tag https://tresjoliekits.com/collections/chipboard/products/miscellaneous , Enamel buttons, Sizzix Thinlets envelope die, Anna Griffin Bow die, heart trim, Tim Holtz Distress Ink Spun Sugar, foam tape, Luna Paste Moonlight Rose, Pearl Ex Rose Gold Pigment powder (from a previous Tres Jolie Kit) and Magicals Bayou Boogie, Smooch inks Green apple and Sundance, and Artisian powder-Parthenay.
First we will create our Stuffed Envelopes. I chose 2 different 12 x12 patterned papers from the Scrapbook kit. I cut them to measure 9x9. Lay your paper on your envelope Punch board lining up the left edge at 4 & 1/4. See photo:
Score, punch, turn paper and line up the along the previous scored line with the pointed tool at the top of your board. See photo:
Here's how your paper should look:
Fold and crease. I rounded the top envelope flap. Then using my fingers and bone folder I curled and made both sides of my envelope wider to be able to fit more things inside my Stuffed Envelope.
Then glue your envelope together. Repeat the same steps to create your other envelope. See photo:
On the backside I added a piece of white lace from the kit. Glue in place along the bottom edge and trim off excess lace. Repeat for the other envelope. See photo:
You can use scrap paper and line the top inside portion of your envelope. This mkes your envelope sturdy. I traced around the top flap, cut out and glued in place.
Along the front side flaps, I glued some heart lace along both edges. See photo:
Set your Envelopes aside. Taking some scrap papers and bow die, I diecut both pieces to create 2 bows.
Assemble and glue both bows together. See photo:
Next I applied some Tim Holtz Distress Ink Spun Sugar around the edges of my paper doily. See photo:
Glue each doily inside the top of your envelope:
Take 2 Scrapberry's Resin Embellishments and I painted my Roses with Pearl Ex Rose Gold. Once dried, I applied some Luna Paste Moonlight Rose over the top of the Roses. This adds a nice glistening effect. On the leaves I applied Smooch ink Green apple. The clock Resin piece i took a stiff brush and applied some Frank Garcia's Memory Hardware Artisian powder-Parthenay, on the clock. See photos:
Now gather some flowers to embellish the front of each envelope. Glue the bow on top bottom edge of your envelope. I glued a cluster of flowers on the bottom left corner on my envelope, and tucked my Resin pieces among my flowers on the front of my envelope. Here's acouple closeups!
Set your Envelopes aside for now. We will make some paper Rosettes using the Scrapbook papers and scraps from this kit.
To make 2 Rosettes, you'll need 2 pieces of paper for each, that measures 12 x 1 & 1/4 inches.
Score them every 1/2 inch. See photo:
Fold them accordian style, with the first piece Fold your flap downward. The second piece fold upwards on the 1st flap.
This makes it easier to slide the ends together and glue. Wiggle and pinch your folded rosette so it's straight across. See photo:
Attach both pieces together with hot glue.
I also used my circle punch to punch 2- 1 inch circles
Add one to thethe backside of my rosette and hold it in place. Here's how your Rosette will look:
I glued a epoxy button (my stash)in the center of each rosette. From my stash, I glued each rosette on a cake stick and glued a bow on each one! I had these items from my stash. So use whatever you have on hand.
You can stuff your Envelopes with ephemera, shakers, sweet treats, teabag and more! The small Tres Jolie Chipboard Tags fit perfectly into this size Stuffed Envelope! You can make a larger envelope for the longer Tres Jolie Chipboard Tags.
I made a tiny envelope using my Sizzix Thinlets die set and scraps from the paper collection in the kit. Using a stamp from my stash, i stamped a sentiment on the front of my tiny envelope. Fold and glue together. The small card fits right inside your tiny envelope.
On the backside of the small card, you could add a special small photo or add a note here.
I also made a greeting card to stick inside my Stuffed Envelope. Here's how I created it. My white card base measures 5 & 1/2 x 4 & 1/4 inches. I covered the front of my card with a pattern paper cut to 5 & 1/4 x 4 inches. Glue your paper on the front.
Take the lace trim from the kit and trim off the top part. See photo:
Glue the trim along the top front of your card.
Take your Tres Jolie Chipboard Hearts and Swirls piece and cut off part of it. I took some Anna Griffin pink ink and applied to both hearts, sprinkled the top of my hearts woth glitter embossing powder. Heat emboss them. Add copper ink on the swirls.(inks are from my stash)See photo:
On the tip of the swirls I applied some Liquid pearls Ballerina.pink (my stash) set aside to dry.
Take the Scrapberry's teacup resin and i applied some Pearl Ex Pigment Rose Gold on the Roses. Once it's dry, I brushed some Luna Paste Moonlight Rose over the top. It adds a glistening effect! On the teacup I applied some Magicals Bayou Boogie Pigment powder.
I took apart the bottom portion of my Prima Marketing flower from our kit, and turned it over. I glued the Resin teacup in the center. See photo:
Glue this piece on the lower right corner on your card. The hearts/Swirls Tres Jolie Chipboard piece i added foam tape on the backside. Then adhered on the leftside. I fussycut out a sentiment tag (from a previous Tres Jolie card kit) and adhered at the top right corner. Here's acouple photos:
You can add your card inside one of your Stuffed Envelopes. Inside the other envelope I added another card and small Tres Jolie Chipboard tag from a previous card kit.
Here's my shaker Rosette and tiny envelope photo for my 1st Stuffed Envelope.
My other card and tag for the other envelope:
Here's another closeup photo of both Stuffed Envelopes!
Now we're all finished with both Stuffed Envelopes! Use your imagination and create whatever you like. I think these would be a nice surprise for any Crafty friend! I hope you were inspired. I'd love to see what you create. So please share with us on Tres Jolie Kit club Cafe Facebook page!
Thank you for joining me today! I'll be back next week with another project. Until then, Happy Crafting!
