Shabby Chic Ornaments

Hello Crafters!

Hope you're doing well. Thanks for visiting our Tres Jolie blog today. We appreciate you being here.

Today's project I'll be creating some Shabby Chic Ornaments using the Tres Jolie June Cards Tags and More kit!

This month's kit has these gorgeous Victorian Dreams papers from Studio Lights. You get a full 8x8 paper pad,  Tres Jolie Chipboard Swirls https://tresjoliekits.com/collections/chipboard/products/swirls-scrolls

In addition you'll receive 49 and Market flowers, Prima Marketing Wood Embellishments and Ultimate Crafts Bella Collection Royalty Embossing folder! Grab your kit today before they sell out!

I'll also be using some items from my stash: Tim Holtz Distress Ink Gathered Twigs, trims and lace, colored twine, gems and Stickles Stardust glitter, foam dots, Round die.

I also purchased a pack of wood ornament circle shapes.

Some wood pieces are not cut exactly round but this makes them unique and you can trim any excess paper using an x-acto knife. I am inking all my fussycut images and diecut images.

Ornament #1: I diecut 2 round circle shapes from a purple patterned paper with the image of this Victorian lady. See photos:

Now line up both papers on each side of your ornament and prick the hole at the top. I used my pricker tool in my stash. Repeat this step for each ornament before gluing your papers in place onto each side of your ornament. See photo:

Now glue white lace trim around the edges and then add a string of pearls on top of the lace trim. (Both from my stash) Here's a photo:

Thread some purple twine through the hole at the top and tie a knot at the top. I glued one of the purple roses from the 49 and Market flowers from your kit. I didn't glue anything on the backside of my ornament. But you could add a photo or other embellishment if you desire. Here's a closeup look:

Now you can diecut all your other patterned papers as we did with our previous ornament. I used a variety of my favorite papers from the paper pad in your kit. Glue your papers on both sides and poke your holes as we did before.

Ornament #2: I applied some pink/gold script washi tape along the outside edge of my ornament. See photo:

On the front side of the woman of color, I glued a flower gem in her hair. I applied some Stickles Stardust glitter on the collar of her dress. Here's a photo:

The backside of my ornament: (I left as is)

Ornament #3: i glued pink trim along the edge of my ornament.

. I added a flower gem from my stash on her hat. See photo:

On the backside,  I took one of the Prima Wood Embellishments and with a Stencil from my stash along with Prima Chalk Ink-Old Rose, I stenciled a small flower on my wood embellishment. See photos:

Now glue your wood embellishment on the backside of your ornament. Here's some photos:

Ornament #4: Glue lace trim around the edge of your ornament. I fussycut the two kitties image from the leftover paper and glue to the backside. I did foam dots to the backside of the gray kitten. Then glued the other kitten behind to make it appear that he's poking out from behind. See photo:

The frontside I glued another purple 49 and Market flower on the Victorian women's hair. Here's a closeup:

Ornament #5 I fussycut out the tiered teacups

and applied over the matching image on the front of my ornament using foam dots.

Backside of ornament, I fussycut the large Vase, and applied using foam dots. Then glued another 49 and Market purple flower in the kit in the center of my vase. Here's a photo:

Ornament #6: I fussycut out another windows image from my other paper.Using an x-acto knife I cut open the window, then glued in place over the other window on the frontside.

Then I glued a purple 49 and Market Rose along the bottom edge. Here's a closeup:

Backside I left as it is:

Now your Ornaments are done and ready to display! I hope you found my project helpful and inspiring! I had fun creating these Ornaments. I think they make a great gift idea or even tie onto a gift bag for an extra surprise!
