"Seek Adventures that Open your Mind"
Hello Crafty Friends!
Dana here! I have a Home Decor Mixed Media project for today. I am using the new March Scrapbook kit and some Mixed Media products from my stash to create this. Our Scrapbook kit features Stamperia "Secret Diary" collection. You'll receive 10 double sided 12x12 patterned papers, frilly lace and blue sequined trim, Little Birdie and Prima Marketing flowers, TJ Chipboard film strip-2pcs, book pages, and some Prima planner clips!
Here's a photo of the Scrapbook kit:

From my stash I will use: wood circle, foam dots and tape, TCW Stencil-mini Cubist, Paint Couture texture paste, Stickles Glitter Stardust, solar spray- Golden Hour, Jute cord, Tim Holtz Distress Ink Gathered Twigs, bubble wrap, Cosmic Shimmer Ice blue shaker powder, white Gesso, palette knife, acetate and x-acto knife. I also had some matching Chipboard stickers and Rub-ons from this collection.
To begin I took my wood circle piece and applied some white Gesso over the top of my wood surface. Let dry. This helps prevent other mediums from seeping through the wood.
I taped my Stencil in place with masking tape.

Then with my palette knife I applied some Paint Couture White Flexible Paste over top.See photo:

After drying, I took some heavy Gesso and brushed over the flat areas on my wood circle. Then taking bubble wrap and pressed over top of the wet gesso to create some texture.

I sprayed some Solar spray over top of my Stencil areas. Taking my Cosmic Shimmer Ice blue powder and some bubble wrap, I sprinkled some over top of my bubble wrap and sprayed with some water. Then press the bubble wrap over scattered areas. See photos:

I also applied some Momento Bamboo leaves innk and spritz with water. Press in scattered areas.

Set your wood circle aside. Take out one of the Tres Jolie Chipboard film strips. I covered the top with Tim Holtz Distress Ink Rusty Hinge. Let dry.

I cut a piece of acetate and glued to the backside of my Chipboard film strip. I also cut out some images from scrap papers to fit behind each film strip window. Glue in place. See photos:

Next using my x-acto knife I cut out the window from the element sheet.

I cut this buildings scene from one of the papers, and fussy cut out the plants and cat Chipboard sticker. I ended up not using the book.

I glued the building scene behind my window. Trim. Then glue your window along the bottom using foam tape. This adds dimension. Then I glued the plants and cat on the window ledge. I cut out a "Bloom Where you are planted" sentiment from the sentiment paper and glued below my window. I fussy cut out a butterfly and glued at the top of my window. I applied acouple rub ones on each side of my window. Here's a close up photo:

I tore a Seek Adventures piece from one of the 12x12 papers. Ink the edges.
I fussy cut a few flowers from the flower element sheet.

I glued the tore piece towards the top. With foam dots I added the fussy cut flowers! I added one of the Prima planner clips on the leftside on my tore paper piece. I also glued some Prima Marketing flower stems on the right side. See photo:

On the leftside over top of the Stencil area, I glued some more Prima Marketing flower stems and flower! And another rub-on. Here's a photo:

On the bottom right side over the Stencil area, I glued another sentiment piece, Prima flower and fussy cut orange flower! Here's a photo:

I added another fussy cut butterfly in the upper right corner. I tied a piece of jute cord through the holes at the top of my wood circle. Now it's ready to hang and display!
Here's a finished photo!

I hope you'll order a kit and create your own masterpiece! Hope i have inspired you along the way!
