Remember the Now - A Layout by Peggy
As I mentioned in my last post, Tres Jolie is sponsoring Sketches in Thyme this month. When Kim gave us a sneak peek of all the sketches, I immediately called “dibs” on this one, full of grunge and gears. Here’s my layout…
…and here is the amazing sketch by Nadine Carlier that inspired it
I love this sketch, full of grunge and gears – a perfect setting for this photo of a couple of six-year-old boys.
I prepped the paper with a coating of clear gesso on both sides and then began to add drips and such with an old Tim Holtz stencil and stencil paste from Craft Box.
Once that was set, I went over the area that would surround the photo with a KaiserCraft stamp and black ink.
I finished altering the background by splattering it with watered down white gesso.
The sketch calls for several layers of matting. I decided to use corrugate painted with gesso instead of patterned paper under the photo.
I finished by embellishing it all with Steampunk Gears: chipboard from Tres Jolie, here treated with Prima metallic waxes from previous kits.
I completed the page with a title piece from a package of Tim Holtz Quote Chips.
Don’t forget that Tres Jolie can be found in the following places:
