Remember...Home Decor Canvas

Hello Craft Friends! I'm Dana and I'll be creating a Home Decor project using our August Scrapbook kit from Tres Jolie Kit Club. The Scrapbook papers are from 3 Quarter Designs "Blush Indulgence "they are filled with beautiful floral images and so much extra Element sheets and Diecut sheet elements you can punch out. You even get 2 extra printed sheets on the back covers! The delicate Roses/leaves chipboard pieces are from Tres Jolie and are exclusive to this kit! So order your kit early so you don't miss out. You also will receive Prima Resist Alphabet sheet and lovely Prima flowers!

This kit is not only for scrapbooking layouts but for Home Decor, mini albums, Tags and so much more!

In addition to the items in this kit, I'll be using some craft supplies in my stash, 12x12 blank canvas, Finnibair Clear Gesso, Distress Texture paste Crackle, Spectrum Noir Midas Blush Metallic Ink, Distress Ink Gathered Twigs, foam tape and dots, Prima crystals and mini pearls  foliage dies and Finnibair Art Stones.

To begin this project I applied a light coat of clear Gesso over the base of my canvas. Then dried using my heat tool. I didn't end up applying the heavy Gesso in white. Then I chose a 12x12 paper from the kit, and adhered my paper to my canvas base. See photos below:

Next taking some Texture paste Crackle and my palette knife, I applied the Crackle in random areas on my canvas. I let dry overnight so it creates more detailed cracks on your canvas. But if you prefer you can heat with your heat tool. Here's some photos:

Here's how it looks after my Crackle has dried throughly:

I rubbed some Distress Ink and Spectrum Noir Midas Blush Metallic Ink over my Crackle areas. Set your canvas aside for now.

Take out one of the Rose/leaves chipboard pieces from your kit. I applied some Prima Chalk Ink Knotted Wood to the stamens, Sweet Pea on the roses and Summer Field Chalk Ink on the leaves. (All Chalk inks are from my stash) Let dry. Here's a photo!

Now take out your Prima Resist Alphabet sheet from your kit. I peeled off the letters to spell "Remember " and adhered them towards the top of my canvas base. I took my Spectrum Noir Midas Blush Metallic Ink and an ink dabber, and applied the ink lightly over each letter. These Resist Alphabet letters are fun and easy to create unique backgrounds. You could a favorite colored spray or Oxide inks if you like. Now peel off each Resist letter and you will have a beautiful look to your canvas layout!

Now the fun part begins! Start planning what embellishments I want to use to decorate my canvas. The extra element sheets and diecuts are perfect for adding a beautiful touch to your design. I did Ink the edges of my diecut and fussy cut images before adhering to my canvas. I chose a photo and matted it on one of the 3.8 x 12 inch sheets in the kit. I adhered to the center of my canvas using foam tape on the back. This adds dimension. I torn one of the images/sentiment pieces, inked the edges and adhered on the lower right corner on my photo. I fussycut out another element card with the clock on it. I adhered with foam dots and added another fussycut flower! Here's a closeup look!

On the left side of my canvas, I arranged some Prima flowers from our kit, tucked some mini pearls in between my flower petals. I also glued some diecut flowers from the kit and using some foliage dies in my stash, and some of the leftover scrap papers in this kit, I diecut them out and glued behind some of the florals. I cut out the sentiment "shine" from one of the element sheets and glued below my photo. Here's a closeup look:

I glued my chipboard roses/leaves at the top of my canvas and one of the punch out element Butterfly on the upper right corner. Here's another photo!

To finish my canvas, using a small paintbrush I applied some Finnibair glass gel in scattered areas on my canvas, then sprinkled some Finnibair Art Stones on the top!

And glued several Prima crystals to finish. Now it's ready to hang and display!

I hope you enjoyed my project today! Thanks for visiting the Tres Jolie blog! Be sure to check back and see more beautiful inspiration from our Design Team members!

Until next week, Have a Crafty Day!
