Quilted cards and Tags Set

Hi Craft Friends!

It's Dana and I'm back on the Tres Jolie blog sharing another project idea. I enjoy cardmaking and creating tags. And this month's September Cards Tags and More kit is loaded with crafty goodness!

The beautiful papers and card toppers are from Paper Boutique! There's even a diecut set from Creative Expressions, perfect for creating tags.

I love the designs used in quilting. But I can't sew! Lol so I thought it would be a great idea making my own quilt designs using these beautiful papers. Both cards measure 5x7 inches.

Thinking of You card instructions:

To begin I cut several strips of coordinating papers from the 8x8 pad, to measure the width of 1/2 ". I also cut a 1 inch square from any scrap paper.

Mark the center lightly using a pencil. Then adhere your 1 inch square in the center of your card. Start gluing your strips diagonally starting along the edges of your 1 inch square. Alternate different patterned papers in all directions.

After all your strips are attached, trim off any excess paper from your card. Save your  scraps! We will use these later. Your card should look like this:

Next I matted a mint green glitter paper (3 and 1/4 inches) onto a piece of white cardstock ( 3 and 1/2 inches) then added the "Thinking of you" sentiment on top! I added 3 tiny matching threaded flower buttons below my sentiment. To finish I tied a pink bow and glued at the bottom of my card.

Card 2: I made a V shaped pattern and cut strips measuring 1/4" and 1/2" from various coordinating papers. Mark the center of your 5x7 card and glue 2 strips into a V shape. Then continue to glue your paper strips diagonally in a V shape. When finished cut off any excess paper.

Using a scalloped die from my stash, I diecut one scalloped shape from the dark maroon polka dot paper in your kit. Matted a sentiment topper on top. Then adhere in the center of my card with foam dots. I added a few crystal gems to add some Sparkle, along with 3 threaded buttons and a pale blue bow!

Using my leftover papers and scraps, I created 2 matching tags that measure 2 3/4 x 61/4 inches. I used the frame/tag die for one of my tag designs and added some pearl gems in the center. Tied some pale blue tulle into a bow at the top along with a Prima flower!

The second tag, I created another diagonal design using my leftover strips. Added a sentiment, some gems and pale pink tulle and a Prima flower!

I hope you enjoyed my project today! Thanks for visiting the Tres Jolie blog! Until next time have a Crafty Day!
