Perfection is Overrated Layout with Rae

Hi everyone.

Today I'm sharing a layout I made with the March scrapbook kit.  For inspiration I used this Sketches in Thyme sketch, as Tres Jolie Kits is sponsoring them this month, offering a prize to a winner.

And here's my take on it:

I decided to flip the sketch to the left. I cut the main paper,
distressed it, and added some white pigment ink to the peeling paint stamp in the kit. It's subtle, but adds a good amount of distressing.
I added a Tres Jolie chipboard border to replace the "stitching" from the sketch. I painted it with green and black paint, then added some Nuvo drops, and sprinkled embossing powder of it before blasting it with a heat gun.
To see how I did this, check out my video tutorial here:
This is a fun technique, and is very versatile- change up the paint and embossing powder colors, and it can be a great treatment for your chipboard for any project!
I added the Prima flowers and Tres Jolie chipboard to peek out from the photo and layers.
I added some paper behind the photo, and added the banners- more than what was in the sketch, but these pretty pieces are actually tags I cut out from the paper in the kit and made them into banners.
I completed the layout by layering a cut out clock and printed chipboard from the kit.
