Own Your Story Layout with Rae
Happy National Scrapbooking Weekend!
Our May reveal was yesterday, and here's a pic of the scrapbook kit:
This paper from Paper Heaven is so elegant with soft hues and beautiful subtle imagery, perfectly paired with beautiful cut outs, perfect for feminine and spring pictures and vibes!
And, the mood board:
Just wow! It inspired me to create this layout:
I started out by cutting a large and small circle from the polka dot paper. I distressed them, added some light beige chalk ink, and traced them with a pencil on the base paper, then cutting the edges of the circles to align with the edge of the page. Next, I used a script stamp with an embossing pad to add the image to peek out from the circles that I traced. I added some gold embossing powder, then used a heat gun on the embossing powder. Then, I erased my pencil marks and glued the circles to the base page, being sure to leave enough space to tuck the cut outs under the circles.
For the smaller circle side of the page, I added a die cut out from the paper- I added some light green chalk ink to it. I added some of the Kaisercraft green rhinestones. Then I added some of the white flower cut outs under the circle. Lastly, I added a metal dragonfly from my stash, along with some small brown rhinestones. I would have used the green ones from the kit, but I already used them on my other projects, so I supplemented with what I had that was closest to them.
For the larger circle, I tucked many more of the white flower and leaf cut outs under the circle.
I added some book page rub ons from my stash to the circle to frame the picture. Then I added another die cut frame cut from the same paper I used for the smaller frame and inked that with green chalk ink as well, and I added more rhinestones to the frame and then added the photo. The photo is a promo for a show that was here in Las Vegas for a while called Baz, a tribute to the Baz Luhrmann films Romeo and Juliet, Moulin Rouge, and Gatsby.
Next, I added some of the beautiful green roses from the kit, and a title from my stash, and added a couple more of the metal dragonflies to the page.
