My Sweet: A Mini Album for Tres Jolie
I just love Prima’s My Sweet collection with the pretty colors and vintage images, so I was ecstatic to find that Kim filled the May Cards, Tags and More Kit with papers and flowers and trims. I decided to create a folio album with a shaker feature on the cover.
Using a Heartfelt Creations album as a template, I cut and scored off-white cardstock, then glued the pieces together, creating flaps and fold-outs of various sizes.
Once I had my album assembled, I began to cover the pages with papers, adding a few pockets here and there to hold a few tags. Next came the embellishing with cut aparts and ephemera and some of the trim. (I’ve also used several items from my stash here.)
I always save the cover for last. With all the opening and closing and shifting that occurs, there’s a lot of wear and tear, and I want to keep the cover as “unworn” as possible.
Here’s how I created that shaker piece: I cut three ¼” rings out of mat board, glued them one on top of the other. I adhered this to the cover and filled the circle about halfway with some buttons from my stash. Next, I cut a circle out of acetate packaging and glued that to the top of the ring. I gave this a few moments to set before I topped it with the gorgeous Tres Jolie chipboard doily.

And a few of the inside pages:
I used some tea-stained paper doilies as matting.
I used a bit of crochet lace to give a finishing touch to the tops of my pockets.
The tags were kept relatively flat so they would fit in the pockets. I used some of the large cut-aparts to create cards – perfect for a bit of journaling.
Don’t forget that Tres Jolie can be found in the following places:
