Cottage Life Vintage Folio Album
Hi Craft Friends!
I'm Dana and I'm excited to share a vintage style mini album I created using Tres jolie Cards, Tags, and more kit!
This kit includes a Folio album with detailed instructions on how to assemble your album. Don't forget to add the magnets to the front left flap and right center flap as per the instructions. The Graphic45 Cottage Life papers included in your kit are so soft and have a pretty vintage feel to them. I love Vintage, don't you?
After assembling your album, we will start decorating the front covers. Left front flap measures 3 & 3/4 x 6 & 1/2 inches. I inked all my pages using Tim Holtz Distress Ink Gathered Twigs. Adhere your paper to the left flap. I cut out the image from "Cottage Life " and adhered in the center. I fussy acouple small stamps from the paper. With hot glue, I added acouple Prima flowers included in your kit and glue at the bottom left corner. Then tuck in the tiny stamps behind your flowers.
The left flap I cut a paper measuring 6x6 inches from the "little things" and adhered my paper to my flap page. Then from "Cottage Life " I cut a paper that measures 5x3/4 x 5 & 3/4 inches, added foam dots to the back and adhered on top of my base paper. With pop dots I added a sentiment at the top right side of my album. (This sentiment is from the matching Ephemera pack in this collection that I purchased separately) Then I cut out one of the smaller Journaling cards and with foam dots I glued below my sentiment. Make sure you don't adhere any tape or glue over your magnet areas or your book won't close properly. The chipboard piece is from Tres Jolie and I cut it to fit along the right side of my album page. I rubbed some Gold Gliding Wax,( I had in my craft stash) lightly over the top surface of my chipboard piece. This wax adds a nice shimmer to your project!
Now open up your album, and cover your left panel with a paper measuring 3 & 1/2 x 6 & 1/2 inches, your spine measures 1 & 1/2 x 6 & 1/2, Ink and glue onto your bases. For the right side with pocket I covered these with same coordinating papers. The right inside pocket measures 2 & 1/2 x 6 & 1/2 inches and outside top area of your pocket measures 4 & 1/4 x 6 & 1/2 inches. I tucked a Journaling card inside my pocket!
Middle center flap I decorated with a coordinating paper, took one of my large Journaling cards from my stash and score 1/2 on the left side and adhered as a flap. There is a nice place to journal on the back. I added another ephemera sentiment at the top!
Now open your book to the right. I decorated the next two pages with coordinating papers, clipboards and Prima flowers! I fussy cut out some of the cute vintage images from "Dare to Dream", inked around the edges. I tucked a perfume bottle and the pretty fan piece in between my flowers.
Here are some closeups!
Next open your book to the left. I covered both my pocket page and diagonal pocket pages using coordinating papers from this collection. Added a chipboard piece on the left pocket and tucked a Journaling card inside the pocket.
The diagonal pocket page I colored the little wood gnome using Spectrum Noir Sparkle inks. Let dry. I cut off the bottom piece from my ch, then glued this cute gnomie to top of another Journaling card. Tuck inside the pocket.
Open your book to the left. I covered my page with a base paper. Using pop dots, I adhered a sentiment to the top page and a few Pearl gems from my stash, at the top left side. For the chipboard filmstrip, I rubbed some Spectrum Noir Bronze wax over the top. I then cut some of the little Journaling cards from the scrap papers and glued to the back of my filmstrip chipboard. Then glue your filmstrip on the right side. You could add a small photo if you like.
For the double pocket page, I covered both pockets with scrap papers from the collection. Cut acouple Journaling cards and adhered to the front of each pocket using foam dots. I added acouple chipboards from this kit. And a pearl gem over the hole of the chipboard on the top. Then I tucked two smaller Journaling cards inside each pocket!
Now flip your book to the right. On the left side I added a coordinating paper to the page, along with a tag from the ephemera pack and crystal gem! There's even a place to add a photo!
Now for the center page I covered with coordinating papers and added a frame and Happy Place pieces from the ephemera pack. I added acouple Dazzle stickers from my stash, on each side of the frame. It adds a sparkly touch! Flip your page upwards and cover the top portion and pocket pages using leftover papers. I adhered this cute chipboard tag and a pearl gem over the hole in the tag. I tucked another Journaling card into my pocket.
For the outside spines of my album, I covered with scrap papers from the paper pad and adhered on both spines. Then glued one of the frame chipboard pieces on the spine and acouple pearl gems over each hole.
For the back of the album I adhered the same matching paper.
I hope you've enjoyed this album project and will make one for yourself. I had such fun making it. I think this would make a great gift idea for a family member or special friend!
