"My Girls" Altered Embroidery Hoops Wall Hanging
Hello Crafty Friends! Jeanne back this week finally with my project for this week. I was sick last week so wasn't able to post but Life happens right?! But I'm excited to share this project featuring my beautiful granddaughters.
So I created this wall hanging, for my craft room, starting with altering these oval embroidery hoops I had purchased a couple of years ago at my local thrift /consignment shop. I began by choosing the paper from the "Carmen" Paper Pad from this month's Scrapbook kit which is AMAZING, as I've said before. I traced the embroidery hoops on the papers before painting them. I then painted the edges of them using Finnabair Art Alchemy Opal Magic Acrylic Paint. While those dried I cut out the two pieces I would be using on the hoops. Once they were completely dry I adhered the pieces and then cut out some cardboard to add to the back of it so it hangs securely.
On this project I did use a lot of the cut outs from the cut out sheet, I used stickers, and ephemera from the kit as well. I used added flowers from the kit and some from my stash. I cut half of a lace doily and added it next to the photos of my little beauties.
I did add a couple of yellow flowers from this month's cards, tags and more kit. I wanted to balance out the colors on this. Also to make this project a little more playful than sophisticated like the layout featuring my daughter I created with the Scrapbook Kit.
I finished it off by adding some gold chunky glitter, gold and pink sequins, clear seed beads. I also had added some pieces of cheese cloth in between the flowers.
Hugs,
It MUST be a new project.
