Dear Dad Vintage Layout

Hello Craft Friends!

Dana here! Happy June! I'm looking forward to the summer season! Today I'll be creating a Vintage layout using the June Tres Jolie Scrapbook kit and chipboards. This month we have a paper collection featuring 3 Quarter Designs "Vintage Man" collection kit. It includes lots of element sheets you can fussycut and use to decorate your layouts and projects. There are even 2 extra 12x12  patterned papers on the back of the cover sheets, 2x A4 Diecut elements you can punch out and use. But there's even more, Finnibair Mechanicals in 2 different styles and Tres Jolie Chipboards! With Father's day coming up, this kit will be perfect for scrapbooking all those photos!

To begin, I chose one of the patterned papers for my layout.

Cut off the bottom border strip and save for a future layout or other project. I chose a photo of my dad when he was in the military at Camp Lejune North Carolina, in the mid 50's.

Taking some of the Tres Jolie black chipboards from the kit, I cut the swirls into two pieces and cut apart the arrows/gears piece apart. I chose one of the Finnibair Mechanicals Steampunk gears, as well as some of the element pieces. I saved one of the swirls chipboard pieces for a future project.

Element pieces and Finnibair Mechanicals wings

I cut out the element card (lined paper) and camera card. Taking the lined paper piece I Distressed the edges using my Distress tool. I tore some of the card along the edge to give it an old tattered look. I inked along the edges using Tim Holtz Distress Ink Gathered Twigs (from my stash) Here's a photo!

I fussycut the sentiment piece "Document " and slightly curled both ends, before gluing in the center. This creates dimension and movement. I glued my Finnibair Mechanicals wings above my sentiment. I chose a photo of my dad and adhered onto part of the element lined card. Then glued the sentiment above my photo, using foam dots from my stash I adhered the pocket watch element. The chipboard letters DAD (from my crafty stash) I glued above my element piece,  and thought they matched well with this collection. Here's a closeup!

In the upper left corner I glued one piece of the Tres Jolie chipboard black swirls. On the lower left corner, I glued another Tres Jolie black chipboard piece (arrows and gears piece we previously cut apart) I glued the small Finnibair Mechanicals Steampunk gears above. Here's some closeups!

In the bottom right corner I adhered the element camera card to my page using foam dots. I took the matching camera diecut piece, applied foam dots on the back and adhered over the matching camera image on my card. I glued the Tres Jolie black arrow and gear pieces at the top of my element card. Then taking one Little Birdie flowers from a previous Tres Jolie Kit, I glued on the left over corner of my element card and tucked the diecut heart in between my flower petals! Here a closeup look!

Now my layout is finished! I hope I've inspired you with my project today and you will order your kit and start scrapbooking all your photos! I think making an album  would be the perfect gift to give any dad on Father's day!

I'll be back next week, with another project to share. Be sure you check back on our blog often to see more amazing projects from our Tres Jolie Design Team!

Happy Crafting! Hope you have a great week!
