Mixed Media Fairy Tags
Hi Craft Friends! Dana here!I'm here to share another project using the Tres Jolie August Mixed Media kit! This kit includes a Prima Bloom 6x12 stencil-criss cross design from Jane Dougherty, 3 wooden boxes from Relics and Artifacts, TCW Champagne Macasite and Starburst Butter creams. These stencil creams are so smooth and easy to spread onto any craft surface you're working on. Also included in this kit Lindy's Moon Shadow Mist!
I will be using some items from my craft stash including Dies from Crafters Companion " Enchanted Forest, crystal gems, piercing tool and gold thread, Dazzle gold border stickers, gold tulle and black/cream cardstock. Black/gold twine, gold embossing powder and matching sentiment stamps.
I chose to create some Fairy tags, since I thought this stencil kinda had a cosmic feel to it!
My 3 tags measure 4 x 8 & 1/2. I punched a hole at the top of each tag. My black card I cut to measure 5 x 7 inches.
I taped my stencil down onto my work surface.Then taking a palette knife I applied both of the Butter creams alternating colors on various places on my stencil. Then scrape off any excess Butter cream. Here's some photos!
Carefully lift off your stencil and set your piece to dry throughly. Repeat this process with the other two black cardstock pieces. Here's some photos!
After your tags are dry, I trimmed my black card down to 3 & 3/8 x 7 inches.
On Tag 1: Taking a piercing tool and foam pad, from my stash, I poked holes along the edge of my tag. Then taking a needle and gold thread, I stitched around the edges. This doesn't have to be perfect. Here's how mine looks:
Using foam tape I adhered my black card to my cream tag. Repeat this with your other two tags. This adds dimension. Set aside your tag for now.
Taking some Fairy Dies from my stash, I diecut 4 fairies from gold/silver cardstock in my stash.
Taking some matching stamp sentiments and gold embossing powder, from my stash, I stamped and heat embossed Sparkle and Twinkle sentiments onto my black card. I glued my 3 fairies onto my tag in scattered areas. Then added a few Prima crystals from my stash, onto my tag. I tied some gold tulle through the hole in my tag and tied into a bow! To finish I added a Prima gem in the center of my bow. This gem was from a previous Tres Jolie Kit. I also made a loop of gold/black twine and glued onto the backside of my tag. Here's some closeups!

Tag 2 and 3: Taking a piece of watercolor paper from my stash, I sprayed some of the Lindy's Moon Shadow mists onto my paper. No specific pattern. See photo:
Then taking more of the matching Fairy stamps and some Versamark Clear ink I stamped my fairies onto the sprayed areas on my watercolor paper. (Both items from my stash) I sprinkled some black Marcasite embossing powder over each. Shake off any excess embossing powder. Then heat emboss. This gives a nice sparklely look to match with our Butter creams!
I cut my fairy images along the edges. You could diecut them if you wanted. Using foam dots I adhered my fairies onto the other two tags. I applied some Dazzle sticker sentiments and gems onto my tags. And tied the gold tulle through the holes in both tags as we did previously. Here's some closeup photos!
