Mixed Media Autumn Tags

Hello Crafters!

So happy you joined us here on the Tres Jolie blog! Hope you're enjoying the autumn season so far.

Today's project we will be creating some Autumn tags using the October Cards Tags and More kit!

The papers included in this month's kit are Craft O Clock "Autumn Moods" collection. They are gorgeous and lots of extra pieces you can fussy cut and use to add that extra dimension to your project.

To begin I chose 3 cardboard tags i purchased at my local craft store. My tags measure 3 & 1/2 x 7 inches. I chose 3 base papers from the kit. I cut, inked the edges using Tim Holtz Distress Ink Gathered Twigs and then glued my papers onto each tag base. Be sure to punch your hole at the top of each tag before gluing down.

I fussy cut a bunch of different images from the extra papers in the kit. I also inked all my pieces and set them aside. I cut out 1 of the  Journaling cards and 2 tag images from my papers. I took a piece of scrap cardboard measuring about 1& 1/2 x 4 3/4 inches. Glue your piece of cardboard in the center of each tag.

I took a piece of cheesecloth from my craft stash, along with Prima Color Bloom spray- Tea Stain, and sprayed my piece of cheesecloth. Let it dry. Then I cut into several pieces. 6 total pieces will be needed. Glue your cheesecloth along the top and bottom of your tag.

Then taking some chipboard frames from my 49 & Market stash, I glued my journal card, and tag images to the back of each frame.

Trim off any excess paper. Apply foam dots to the backside of your frame and then adhere to the center of your tag.

Using a small brush I applied some Ranger texture paste (craft stash) along the bottom edge of my tags, then sprinkled some Finnibair Art Stones over the top. Here's a closeup!

Now you are ready to decorate your tags with fussy cut pieces. I don't glue anything down until I'm happy with their placement. I adhered some of my pieces using foam dots to add some dimension. Here are some closeups!

I also glued some flowers on each tag, one flower is from this kit and the other two flowers were from last month's kit. I also added some sparkle on my pumpkins and bird images using Stickles Stardust glitter from my stash. To finish off my tags, I tied some Golden Tulle through the holes in my tags, then tied in a bow. Here are some closeups!

I hope you enjoyed this project and will create some fall tags to send to your crafty friends or family. Thank you for stopping by the Tres Jolie blog! We love to see your projects so don't forget to share on our Facebook page.

Until next time, Happy Crafting!
