Mini ATC Cards and Upcycled File Box

Hello Craft Friends! I'm Dana and it's time to share another project using the July Scrapbook kit from Tres Jolie Kit Club! The Scrapbook kit this month is amazing! It features Simple Stories Vintage Essentials 12x12 Designer paper kit, including the matching Ephemera pack, Captured Bits pack, Rub'ons, Tres Jolie Chipboards, and Little Birdie flowers! You're going to want to not miss out on this kit. So order yours early!

I will be using some extra Add-ons from this collection (from my stash) including Type Keys Foam Stickers, matching washi tapes, Take Notes Bits. I will be inking all my ATC cards using Tim Holtz Distress Ink Rusty Hinge and Gathered Twigs (both from my stash)

Also from my stash, I'll be using 8 & 1/2 x 11 inches white cardstock, foam tape or dots, rounded punch, score board, paper trimmer and some Prima flowers I had leftover from a previous Tres Jolie Scrapbook kit!

The upcycled box I'm using was from a leftover coffee box I had lying around. I like to hold on to empty containers and boxes that we can upcycle and use for crafty projects! My box measures 7 & 1/2 x 1 & 7/8. (Outside)

To begin our project, I took my white cardstock and cut a total of 10 ATC cards measuring 3 & 1/2 x 2 & 1/2 inches. Here's a photo!

Set your ATC cards aside for now. We will start decorating our File box first.

For the box I chose to cover the outside panels using the "Authentic Ruler" paper. I cut 2 strips measuring 7 & 1/2 x 1 & 7/8 inches. I cut another 2 strips measuring 3 & 3/4 x 1 & 7/8 inches.

Match up the words on each panel all around the box as pictured on the photo above and adhere onto all front, back and both sides of your box. See photo below:

I cut another coordinating paper "Now and Then " to measure 7 & 1/8 x 3 & 5/8 inches and glue on the bottom of your box inside. See photo:

I chose to leave the inside panels as they are. But you could cover with paper if you prefer. On the front of my file box, I cut apart one of the Tres Jolie black swirls chipboard and glued onto the front of my box.

Then taking a Prima flower from a previous Tres Jolie Scrapbook kit, I glued my flower in the center.  Now set your box aside.

Now we will begin designing out ATC cards. I inked the outside edges of my ATC cards using Tim Holtz Distress Ink Rusty Hinge.

Card 1: Take out the clipboard piece from the Simple Stories Note Bits package and glue onto your ATC card (vertically) i glued the sentiment "today" and a star onto my clipboard. Then fussy cut out a pen from the front cover page and adhered at an angle on my clipboard.

Card 2: (Vertical) I cut out the typewriter image from the "Limited Edition " paper,  and glued on the front of my card. I spelled the word " Keys" using the Type Keys Foam Stickers from the collection and adhered along the bottom of my card.

Card 3: I cut a piece from the "Beautiful Moments" paper measuring 2x3 inches and glued on my card on the right side. I applied some matching washi tape on the left side. I cut apart a piece of my black swirls chipboard. See photo:

I glued the Tres Jolie black chipboard swirls on my card. I fussy cut out a butterfly image from the patterned papers and glued onto the center of my chipboard. Here's a photo of my first 3 ATC cards:

Card 4: I cut out a Bingo card from another paper, and glued onto the front. Then glued another star in the center of my Bingo card.

Card 5: I took the Tres Jolie black Filmstrip chipboard piece and cut apart leaving 3 Filmstrip slices intact. I glued the Filmstrip Captured Bits (in your kit) behind my Filmstrip slides matching it up so they are visible through each slide. See photo:

I adhered a "Hi" sentiment and fussy cut a camera image from "Take Note" paper and using foam dots I adhered at the right side.

Card 6: iI glued a newspaper/ticket on the right side on my ATC card. From Captured Bits package,  I stapled a ticket at the top left corner. Then glued a heart and the word "Day" on my card. Here's a photo:

Card 7: I applied some Simple Stories Essentials Rub'ons on my card vertically. See photo:

Then glued a sentiment "Now & Forever " at the bottom.  Here's a photo:

Card 8: I cut out a photo mat measuring 4 & 1/4 x 3 & 1/2 from "For the Record " paper, scored in the center and fold. I glued onto my card to make a flip page. I added a photo on the front side. Inside I glued another coordinating paper and cut a scrap from the Ruler paper and adhered on the right side. On the back I applied some washi tape. Here's a photo of my two cards:

Card 9: I cut a piece from the Newspaper and rounded all 4 corners using a corner rounder punch from my stash. Using foam dots I adhered the "Today" Captured Bits sentiment. And some tiny Tim Holtz idea-ology paper dolls on the bottom. (My stash)

Card 10:  I cut a 2 & 1/2 x 3 inch piece of paper from the " Little Details " and adhered on the front of my card. I adhered another Tres Jolie black swirls chipboard on my card. Then stapled the "Take Note " sentiment from the Note Bits package, at the top! Here's a closeup look:

Now your ATC cards are done! You are ready to trade your cards with your crafty friends and display in your upcycled file box!

I hope you had as much fun as I did creating this project for you! Be sure to check back often so you don't miss what our other designers have created to inspire you!

Until next week, Have a Crafty Day!
