Mermaids Under the Sea Wall Hanging

Hello Craft Friends!

Hope you are all having a great week! Today I'll be sharing how to create a Mermaid Wall Hanging project. It features the new Tres Jolie Chipboard shapes Shells and adorable Mermaid! You can get them here: https://tresjoliekits.com/collections/chipboard/products/beach

I love Mermaids and I love decorating my home for summer!

The paper collection I'm using is Prima Marketing new "Mermaid Love ".

For the base of my project, I am using a Circle Wood Shape that measures 11 & 1/4 x 12 inches. You can find these at your Craft store or online. I will be using some items from my stash to decorate my Tres Jolie chipboard shapes as well as other products such as: Versamark Clear ink, Black Sparkle embossing powder, heat tool, foam dots, Distress Ink Gathered Twigs, Finnibair Art Ingredients-Glass Glitter Midnight Blue, fish net, Finnibair Art Extravagance Texture paste- white sand, clear babbles and Stickles Stardust glitter.

To start this project, I chose one of the 12x12 patterned papers from this collection.i glued my paper to my wood circle shape. Then I traced around my circle shape using my pencil. Be sure to mark and pierce both holes at the top.

I trimmed away any excess paper using my x-acto knife from my stash. See photos:

Next I took the Finnibair Texture paste white sand and a palette knife (my stash) and spread the paste along the bottom edge. See photo:

I applied Distress Ink around the edges of my Wood circle shape. Set aside for now.

Take your Tres Jolie Chipboard Mermaid. On her hair I applied some Versamark Clear ink and sprinkled Black Sparkle embossing powder over top. Shake off any excess embossing powder and heat with your heat tool. On her dress I applied some glue and sprinkled some Finnibair Art Ingredients-Glass Glitter Midnight Blue. Let dry. On the Starfish I added some Soft gloss gel ( my stash) and then some Gold glitter i had in my stash. See photos:

Set your Mermaid aside. Take your Tres Jolie Chipboard Shells- 2 total. You can decorate the shells with a variety of Craft products such as, Inks, glitter, pastes, paints and glitter! From my stash. I am using Spectrum Noir Sparkle Inks! These add a shimmering glow! Then on the outside edges on my chipboard shells, I applied some Liquid pearls White Opal. (My stash) set aside to dry.

The Sparkle Ink colors I used are: Moonstone, Aquamarine, Cosmic, and Amethyste. I wanted to have them match the color scheme of my papers and embellishments! Here's some photos!

Now we are ready to gather our Chipboard pieces, and embellishments to decorate our Circle Wood Base. I like to use a variety of ephemera, flowers, crystals etc...that will match my Chipboards and theme of my project. Just do whatever you desire and feel like creating. There's no limit to what you can do!

I did do some fussycutting, chose one of the 3x4 Journaling cards to use as my center point and chose some ephemera pieces. See photo:

I took both Tres Jolie Chipboard Shells shapes and adhered along the bottom on my sandy edge, using foam dots on the backside to add dimension! Then with foam dots, I added some ephemera shells.I also added some seaweed stickers and the tiny fish with foam dots. Here's acouple photos!

With foam dots I adhered the small Journaling card in the center. I had a metal anchor in my stash so I glued that at the top of my journal card and over the matching anchor image. I applied the treasure chest sticker along the bottom left corner, i glued the smll Mermaid ephemera piece on the upper right corner. I glued acouple ephemera flowers on the upper left corner! With foam dots i adhered the wheel and applied a Prima Marketing crystal in the center and an Chipboard sticker sentiment! Here's a photo:

My Tres Jolie chipboard Mermaid I applied foam dots on the backside and adhered her on the left side of my journal card.  I glued a piece of fish net overlapping the wood circle edge. Then glued a Prima flower onto the fish net! Here's a closeup look:

On the right side I glued another piece of fish net and another Prima flower from the collection. The ephemera Mermaid piece i applied foam dots to add dimension and adhered her to the right of my chipboard shell. Here's a photo:

I added some Clear babbles in scattered places on my wood piece. To finish I tied a piece of jute cord that came with my Circle Wood Shape and knotted both ends on the backside of my circle wood shape! Here's a closeup photo:

Now our Wood piece is all ready to hang and display on our wall! I hope I've inspired you and you will order your Tres Jolie new Chipboard Beachy shapes today, and start crafting your own Summer Home Decor pieces! These chipboards are perfect to use on Cards and Tags too!
