Love and Family Layout

Hello Craft Friends!

Dana here and I'm happy to be back on the Tres jolie blog sharing a Steampunk Family layout using the September Scrapbook kit that features 3 Quarter Designs Steampunk collection papers and chipboards! Pick up yours here: https://tresjoliekits.com/collections/scrapbook-kits

I love the heritage photos I've collected through the years of family members who are no longer with us. The photo are chose to use is my Uncle and my grandmother who came here from Mexico back in the early days of the 1940's. This photo was taken on the south side of Milwaukee.

I chose one of the beautiful scrapbook papers to use for my background. From some of my  scrap paper, I diecut a frame using the Creative Expressions Frames and Tags diecut set included in this kit. I glued the frame piece along the top edge of my photo. Then applied some foam dots to the back of my photo and  adhered it in the center of my page. I added a Prima wooden "Love" Trinket from my stash and glued at the top of my photo.

I had this Prima Junkyard Family Street sign from my stash so thought I'd add on the upper right side.

I fussy cut acouple butterflies from the ephemera pack included in the kit, along with one of the tags. I punched a hole at the top of my tag. Then added a metal brad from my stash, at the top! I cut in half a tea stained doily and glued along the left side of my tag. Then adding foam dots on the back of my tag, before adhering to my layout. Here's a closeup!

On the right side of my layout, I arranged some Prima flowers, added some pearls, a button and a sentiment and wooden clock piece from my stash, along the bottom edge of my layout. On the white Prima flower i inked along the edge using Brilliance pearlscent Orchid ink using light pressure. I didnt want the color to smudge or be too dark.

Here's a closeup:

I think creating scrapbook layouts are a great way to preserve our family memories for future generations! I hope I've inspired you to get out your family photos and start making a family scrapbook for yourself or to give as a gift to that special family member.
