"Live for the Moment" Layout for the Mood Board Challenge with Rae

Happy Sunday!

Have you joined our Mood Board Challenge for August yet?

Obviously the kit is works perfectly with the colors the August kit, but really called out to me is that hanging window and all the greenery, and that lovely blue farmhouse vase, so I focused on adding those elements to my layout.

I started out by cutting my layers- I used the pink paper as the main layer, then added the striped green paper over most of it. I used the turquoise embossing powder from the kit on the naked Tres Jolie chipboard border, then tucked it in between the large paper layers.

I used the square design on the green stripped paper has the focal point of my design- it's mostly covered, starting with one of the doilies from the kit.  Then I cut out several pieces of the the ephemera (bingo card, ruler, etc) to peek out from under the wood shutters.  The shutters are from my stash (Prima), but we have had these in a couple of past kits- a perfect staple to have around, especially since it went so well with the mood board.

On this side you can see the cut out ephemera pieces (ruler, ads, and ticket) and some of the beautiful Prima Marketing roses which help keep the shutters lifted up a bit.  The die cut leaves are cut from the green paper in the kit, then I added some of the blue embossing powder as well.

Next, I added several of the blue-green and pink Prima roses around the shutters- there are A LOT, a bit of a flower sneeze, but they just work so well to bring attention to the picture that has the pink and green bouquet.  I also added a title cut out from the paper as well as a Melissa Frances resin, both from the kit.

Lastly, I cut out the little banners and added some twine to go below the shutters- I thought it was a nice touch to correlate with the mood board.

Thanks for stopping by the blog!
