Innocence
Of course – May being the month of Mother’s Day – I scrapped a photo of my own Mother. This year, I wanted to do this a bit differently, using an image of her taken during the Summer of 1921 at the age of 2-1/2, with her Aunt Kate looking on. The soft papers and embellishments that make up the May Scrapbook Kit are perfect for capturing the sweet innocence of that time…
I began by applying some of the Crackle Paste that came in the April Mixed Media Kit through a Prima stencil that I’ve had for years.
Once that had set, I began to add layers, using some more of the pieces that I had cut from the cover sheet and the reverse side of the same paper to matte the photo.
I adhered a bit of the chipboard border to the bottom and then embellished the corners with fussy cut leaves (from the 6 x 6 Cutout sheets) and a few of those gorgeous flowers from the Courage package.
Lastly, I fussy cut a few butterflies and arranged them here and there to finish my layout.
