How to Create A Slimline Card and Envelope
Hello Crafty friends! Jeanne here back this week to share with you this pretty simple photo tutorial on how I have created a couple of slimline cards with matching envelopes. There are many tutorials online but I tweaked my measurements just a little. I do hope you will give this a try!
For these I ended up using of course this month's Scrapbook Kit from Tres Jolie Kits. I'm absolutely in love with this paper collection " Let Creativity Bloom" from P13. So here is what I came up with!
Begin by cutting your choice of cardstock I chose to use the white Kaisercraft that came in this month's card kit from Tres Jolie. I cut it at 8 1/2 X 7 , score it in half at 3 1/2.
Note** this tutorial is for the card below
Then pick the pattern paper of your choice and cut it at 3 1/4 X 8 1/4 and adhere it to your card base. For my design I was inspired by one of the pattern sheets from the paper pad so I first cut (3) pieces of American Crafts textured card stock (bubble gum pink) and set them aside. Then cut (2) of the cute images of the pattern paper and (1) which was blank. Taking my Fiskars Pinking Shears I cut along the edge of the 2x2 card stock squares and the pattern paper squares as well. I adhered the card stock squares 1/2 in from both sides & for the centered one will fit right in the center leaving 3/4 in. from the side ones ( hope you understand that last direction ).
Now onto the envelope which is very easy, I chose to use pattern paper to create the envelopes so I cut the papers 9 X 11, on the 9 in side you will score @ 2 1/2 & 6 1/2, flip it on the 11 in side and score @ 1in. & 10 in. You will then cut the 4 squares as seen on the (a) photo, I then diagonally cut on the sheet a s seen on the (b) photo, this is optionally but I like doing this for a smoother closure.
I then added some double sided tape as seen on the (c) photo. You will adhere on of the edges and leave the tape intact until you are ready to seal it to give or mail to that special person.
I then took some chipboard pieces from past Tres Jolie kits and using Lindy's Cosmic Pink Blue embossing powder on the heart key chipboard piece and for the butterfly piece I used WOW Iridium Embossing Glitter powder .Then adhered onto the front of the envelopes. These won't be mailed out but do not add anything like this if you want to mail yours.
I do hope that you found this picture tutorial easy and were able to understand my directions. If you have any questions you can send a comment on the Tres Jolie Kit club on Facebook. Until next time! Have a wonderful weekend and Happy Crafting!
Also there is still time to enter this month's mood board challenge! This month's twist is "Spring Fling"
