Handmade Folio Flip Books

Hello Crafty Friends!

My name is Dana. Today I have an easy Folio project you can make. These are fun and a nice surprise to send to any crafty friend. To make these I'm using the Tres Jolie November Scrapbook kit. The kit features this lovely paper collection from Blue Fern Studios called " House and Home". You get 12x12 patterned double sided papers (10 designs) Tres jolie Chipboard Clocks-2, Matching Ephemera diecuts pack and Journaling cards, Buttons Galore Sparkle words Buttons pack and Little Birdie flowers! Here's a photo of the Scrapbook kit:

From my stash I am using Distress Ink Gathered Twigs, score board, x-acto knife, circle punch metal Brad, and clock embellishment and lace trim.

To begin chose a 12x12 paper from the kit. Cut into 2 pieces measuring 6x12 inches. See photo:

Lay your paper on your score board and score at 2, 5 & 1/2 and 9 inches. Repeat this on the other piece. Accordian fold and crease, with the left flap facing the front. See photos:

Take your second piece and score at 2,7 and 10 inches. Fold and crease. Take the left flap and punch a notch at the top if you like. Then add glue and adhere as a pocket.

Now fold the right flap over to form another pocket.  Add a notch at the top before gluing. See photo:

Now we can start decorating our front cover. I chose an Ephemera windows with the bluebird and glued to the front pocket flap towards the bottom edge. I glued one of the Sparkle words Buttons at the bottom. Added one of the white flowers in the kit at the top and an Ephemera sentiment at the very top edge. Here's a photo:

I cut out 3 Journaling cards from the "Housewarming" paper. Taking the Journaling card Home, I  folded it in half and tucked them all inside my pocket.

Open to the first page, I cut out this home image from the Journaling cards package, one of the Ephemera sentiment pieces and pendant flap.

With foam dots, I adhered the house in the center of my page on the left side. I adhered the Ephemera sentiment diecut at the bottom edge and the pendant flap from the Ephemera pack with foam dots on the top right flap. Here's a photo:

Flip and open up to the next page spread. I chose a Sparkle words Button, cut out 3 Journaling cards and some of the Ephemera diecuts. See photo:

Take out one of the Tres Jolie Chipboard clocks from your kit. In the Ephemera pack, I chose a green circle frame, ticket and journey home pieces. From the Ephemera pack i took the insert piece. See photo:

Using my x-acto knife i cut out the inner orange circle. Taking my Chipboard clock i glued it onto the green Ephemera frame. I attached the orange circle piece in the center of my Tres Jolie Chipboard clock with a metal Brad. See photo:

I stapled the ticket at the top of my page, and glued my Chipboard clock at the bottom. With foam dots i adhered the Journey home Ephemera piece. I glued the black Sparkle button on the left flap. On the right side flap, I cut a scrap piece of paper to measure 2 & 3/4 x 2 & 1/2 inches and adhered as a pocket. I added a piece of lace at the top edge on my pocket. I stapled the Ephemera alphabet piece at the top right corner. I chose a couple Ephemera diecuts and a scrap piece leftover from one of my journal cards. See photo:

Fold the scrap piece in half and tuck inside the pocket. I glued the Memories Sparkle words Button towards the bottom edge.

Here's a finished photo:

Flip over to the last flap. I chose one Ephemera door piece and Journaling card. Taking a scrap piece from a journal cards, I added a photo and the Sparkle words Button. See photos:

Tuck these inside your pocket! Now we are finished with our first Folio.

For my second Folio, I cut and assembled it the same way and using the same measurements.

On the front pocket flap, I chose a few Sparkle words Buttons, and taking one of the  yellow flowers from the kit, I carefully removed the top part of my flower, (save the remaining flower piece) and this metal clock piece  from my stash and i cut a journal card in half.

I glued the 3 button words at the top, then the yellow flower and metal clock. I tucked my cards inside my pocket. Here's some photos:

Open up to the first pages. On the left side I trimmed and glued a journal card as a pocket. You can add a tag inside if you like. See photo:

On the right flap I took an Ephemera card, scored 1/2 inch at the top. See photo:

I adhered this on the top edge as a flip page. You could add a photo underneath if you desire. I glued an Ephemera sentiment along the bottom edge. Here's a photo:

Turn over to the next page spread. I  tucked an Ephemera envelope piece with the bluebird inside my pocket. In the center, I cut out a 4 3/4 x 6 inch piece from one of the papers. I scored a 1/inch at the top. Then adhered as a flip page. You could add a photo underneath here. On the right flap, I chose a small Ephemera frame and glued a photo behind my frame. I took a leftover yellow flower and glued the Family Sparkle words Button on top. Then glued my flower at the bottom edge. And my frame at the top. Here's a photo:

Flip your last pocket flap over and glued a Ephemera sentiment pieces at the top. Next i took from the Gather paper and cut this card out, scored in half

Open to the inside and i added a small photo and Ephemera pendant flag. See photo:

Tuck inside your pocket!

Now we are all finished with both Folios. I hope you are inspired and will try making some. Here are a couple closeup photos!
