Halloween Tag Book and Slimline Card
Hello Craft Friends!
Dana here! October is the month of ghosts, goblins and cute trick or treaters! I look forward to creating fun and Spooky projects! How about you?
Today I'm creating a fun tag book and Slimline card with my leftover papers. I'll be using the October Cards Tags and More kit from Tres Jolie. This is one kit you'll want to order early before they sell out.
The Cards Tags and More kit features Alchemy Art "Trick or Treat 8x8 paper pack, the papers are double sided too for twice as much fun! Also included is a Tag book set from 13 Arts, the cutest Halloween chipboard pieces from Tres Jolie (exclusive to this kit and Tim Holtz Idea-ology Adorments-crossbones.
From my stash I used Smootch Inks, and from this month's Mixed Media kit some Tim Holtz Distress Crayons- Halloween, and Halloween set 1, Spectrum Noir Metallic markers, Distress Ink Rusty Hinge and Gathered Twigs, Halloween washi tapes, and Stickles Stardust glitter.
To begin our project, I took the Distress Crayons and using a paintbrush, I spread some color onto my to my pumpkins. After that I used a combination of Spectrum Noir Metallic markers and Smooch inks. They add a nice shimmer on the pumpkins. I colored the grass and stem of pumpkin with my markers and Smooch inks. Set aside to dry.
Now take out your tag book. The tags measure 4 x 7& 1/8 inches. I marked and punched all the holes at the top before adhering my base papers onto each tag. I also like to Ink all my papers before gluing. Here's acouple photos:
Next I fussycut out some images from the scrap papers that I want to use as embellishments. I also teared some papers. I added some washi tape along the bottom of some of my tags.
I like to add a variety of different chipboard pieces ( I cut some apart) and ephemera from my stash, along with fussy cut pieces.
Tag 1: I adhered a cut apart chipboard piece using foam dots on the back to add dimension. I applied some washi tape at the top and from a Tim Holtz sticker book (my stash) I created a story. I applied some Stickles Stardust glitter on my ghost and acouple Bats in my stash.
Tag 2: I tore the witch image and cut out some fussycut images. See photo:
I applied some washi tape along the bottom, adhered my fussycut pieces using foam dots. Glued part of my pumpkin chipboard piece above the washi tape. And a witch's hat! Stickles Stardust glitter on my cobweb.
Tag 3: I tore the Autumn witch image from one of the patterned papers. Inked the edges and adhered at the top using foam tape. I glued one of the leftover scrap borders along the bottom. I fussycut a few circle shapes and glued onto my border strip. Added a few crystal gems (my stash) and applied some Stickles Stardust glitter on my pumpkin and flower.
Tag 4: I Distressed a border strip and wrapped some twine on one end. Then I glued it along the top of my tag. I stamped the word "Boo" in the center and added a fussycut kitty on the left side with foam dots. I glued a pumpkin charm from my stash on top of my twine.
Tag 5: I fussycut out the Kooky pumpkin guy from the elements sheet and adhered at the top using foam dots. I glued one of the Tim Holtz Word Plaques below my pumpkin guy. Applied some Stickles glitter on the bottom image.
Tag 6: I took a Tres Jolie chipboard flag pendant piece you can find them here: https://tresjoliekits.com/collections/chipboard/products/borders and cut a portion off. I covered with some scrap paper from the kit. Then using my x-acto knife I trimmed away any excess paper and distressed any rough edges. Here's acouple photos:
I adhered my flag pendant chipboard piece along the top of my tag using foam dots. I applied a few puffy stickers from my stash, onto my pendant flags. I cut a pocket piece measuring 4 x 2 & 1/2 inches and glued at the bottom. I added a punched border using a border punch (my stash) and glued along the top edge of my pocket. Then I cut out one of the small Journaling cards and tucked inside my pocket. Added a puffy sticker sentiment on top of my pocket! Here's some closeups!
Tag 7: I applied some black washi tape on acouple strips on the top of my tag and Trick or Treat washi tape on top! It creates some Sparkle to your tags. I fussy cut a witch image from the scrap paper and adhered with foam dots along the bottom. Then added a few crystals.
Tag 8: I created a flip page using a scrap paper, scored 1/2 inch on the right side and adhered on the right edge. On the back of my flip card I cut out another small journal card and glued in place. I glued another Tres Jolie black pumpkin chipboard along the bottom. Then stapled a ticket from my stash on the top right corner. Here's acouple photos!
Tag 9: Taking some stamps from my stash, I stamped a sentiment and spider at the top of my tag. Using a Die in my stash, I diecut a small fence and glued at the bottom left corner. I glued the Tres Jolie Black cat chipboard piece on the bottom right corner. Here's a photo!
Tag 10: I fussycut a witch and haunted house and adhered using foam dots along the bottom. I adhered a dimensional sticker on my tag (my stash) I glued another Tim Holtz Word Plaque and Tim Holtz Adornment Crossbow at the top!
To finish my tag, I added all 10 tags to my metal ring and tied my blue ribbon into a bow. These items are both included in this kit.
With my leftover paper, I created a Slimline card. I cut some white cardstock from my stash to measure 8 & 1/2 x 4 inches. Scored at 4 inches and fold. I cut my Halloween paper from the kit to measure 8 x 3 5/8 and adhered with foam tape. I glued some orange tinsel (my stash) around the outside edge of my card. And added a spider sticker and diecut bow. Here's a photo!
