Grateful Wood Milk Jug Home Decor

Hi there Everyone!

I'm Dana and I'm here to share my first project for November. Can you believe it's almost Thanksgiving? This year has gone by so fast. I'm thankful for life and  being able to create crafty makes with you.

Today I thought I'd create a Home Decor project that celebrates the Autumn season and being Grateful.

I'll be using Tres Jolie Scrapbook kit that includes these pretty fall papers from Alchemy Art called "Gold Autumn " the colors and patterns are so vibrant. Also included are some Pumpkin chipboards (exclusive to this kit) from Tres Jolie https://tresjoliekits.com/collections/chipboard/products/holidays, Scrapberry's set of Polymer Columns embellishments, 49 and Market Rustic Bouquet flowers and Prima marketing Diamond flowers. From last months Scrapbook kit from Tres Jolie, I'll be adding a Prima Marketing Metal Desert flower, Finnibair Metallic Silver Spoon paint.

For the base of my project, I chose this Wood Milk Jug pallet from Clear Scraps.

I'll be using some items from my craft stash: foam tape and dots, jute cord, xaco knife, Distress tool, Distress Ink Gathered Twigs, Memory Hardware Artisian powder- Pathenay", Prima Chalk Ink-Pastel Brown

To begin our project, I applied some Finnibair Silver Spoon acrylic paint across the top portion of my Milk Jug and including both handles. Let dry.

I took some of the patterned papers in the kit and traced around each section of my Milk Jug. I glued my papers in place. Then using my x-acto knife, I trimmed away any excess paper. And then using my Distress tool I smoothed any rough edges. Repeat this process for each wood section.

Here's a few photos!

Next I fussycut some images from the various element sheets included in the kit. I applied Distress Ink around the edges of all my fussycut pieces. Set these aside for now.

Next I chose a Tres Jolie chipboard window https://tresjoliekits.com/collections/chipboard/products/miscellaneous and applied some Prima Chalk Ink Pastel Brown over the top of my window. Let dry.

I also chose a chipboard Grateful Title from Tres Jolie shop https://tresjoliekits.com/collections/chipboard/products/titles

I applied some Metallic Copper ink on top of my chipboard title. Let dry.

Taking some Memory Hardware Artisian powder Pathenay and a stiff brush,  I applied a small amount of powder over the top of each Resin column. This gives a Rustic look.

From one of the papers in this kit, I fussycut a window image and adhered to the center of my Milk Jug using foam tape. This adds dimension and my main focal point. I took the chipboard window and glued the gal I cut out so her face would show through the window. Then I applied some foam dots to the back of the chipboard window,  and then adhered over the matching window image on the center paper image. I  glued both Resin columns in place on each side of the window. From my stash, i cut out this tiny bird and glued on top of one of my columns. Here's a photo:

Now I arrange my fussycut pieces and flowers from the kit and once I'm happy with their placement, I glued them in place. I use foam dots on the back of some images to add dimension. I tucked acouple leaves behind my flower petals. Here's some closeup photos!

I glued the Grateful chipboard title at the top. Then wrapped some jute cord around the top section of my Milk Jug. I cut out this tiny tag from my element paper and punched a hole and thread some cord through the hole and tied into a knot. From last months Scrapbook kit, I glued one of the leftover Metal Desert flowers on the upper right side over my jute cord.

To finish I adhered a metal hanger onto the backside of my Milk Jug. Now it's ready to display and enjoy!

I hope you will be inspired and grab a kit or two and create your own Home Decor piece!
