Free To Fly Canvas with Rae

Happy Sunday!

Today I am sharing my canvas that I made using the July mixed media kit featuring a square canvas, Dina Wakley paints, Ranger Ice Resin, 49 and Market flowers, and a beautiful Stamperia mould:

I used a few things from my stash to make this project:

I started out by creating the resin frame using the Ranger Ice Resin and the Stamperia long frame, which took about 24 hours to dry to be able to get out of the mould.

Then I started the canvas by taking the two lighter colors of paint on the canvas and then mixing them slightly.  These paints are really thick and are wonderful for creating texture.  Once I had the paint spread out, I made vertical strokes which kept their "shape" which are still visible.

Next, I added some twine, then lightly brushed it with the paint brush I used on the canvas to add some blue color to it.  Once I decided where the frame should go over the twine, I used the darkest blue paint with a stencil (Ciao Bella- Roma) from my stash.  This paint has great consistency to use with stencils.  Then I took a sponge and the lightest blue color to the edges of the canvas and in random places over the entire canvas.

I then painted the resin frame and flowers with the lighter two blue paints and glued them to the canvas.  I added a couple of different waxes to the frame, flowers and the title, as well as the edges.
