Folio-July 2021 Cards, Tags, & More Kit

Hey, all! Welcome back to the Tres Jolie Blog!

Today I’m bringing you a folio as my second project this month using the Cards, Tags, & More Kit. In addition to the papers from the kit, I used some chipboard, linen blend cardstock, lace, and an old pillowcase from my stash. I also created an extra notebook using my Mini Cinch to stick in. Were I to do it again, I’d think through that extra notebook a bit, but I decided to add it as an after thought! But I explain all that in the video, so be sure to check it out!

  Video:

First, here are the measurements I used:

Chipboard Measurements:

3x 9”x6”

1x 1-1/4”x9”

1x 1”x9”

Cardstock Measurements:

Front, Back, Flap: 8-3/4”x5-3/4”

Spines: 8-3/4”x1” & 8-3/4”x3/4”

Waterfall Measurements:

5-1/2”x4-1/2” on the 4-1/2” edge score at 1/2” to create a 5-1/2”x4” surface.

Folder Measurements:

12x12 Cardstock—score at 8-3/4” for pocket fold; score at 5-3/4” for center fold.

Now for some close-ups:

Here are some shots of my cover. I love the fabric of this old pillowcase, and I’ve been waiting for the right project to come along to use it on; this folio was that project! I used two old buttons from my stash and some of the seam binding from the kit to create a simple closure.

On the center panel of the folio I added a waterfall for holding photos. I used the doily die from the kit to add a little extra to the top, and I have a couple of small magnets in place to hold the waterfall closed.

In my folio I have two folders, one in each spine, with the second one having an extra fold-out envelope to go along with it. I also added some cardstock to the last panel to create a pocket.

I used some wide lace and some E6000 to hold it tightly in place on the front panel. Originally I thought to put my (after-thought) notepad there, before I realized the folio wouldn’t close that way! So I decided to make the extra notepad a feature on the back panel, using a headband I got either at Dollar Tree or on clearance at Target to hold it in place.

I hope you have time to check out the video to see how I put this folio together!
