Floral and Grungy Memory Album

Hello Craft Friends!

Dana here! Thank you for visiting the Tres Jolie Blog today! I have a new project to share that I hope you'll love. This album will have a mix of florals, Grungy and vintage all in one!

To create my album, I'm using Tres Jolie August Scrapbook kit! The papers included in this month's kit are from Elizabeth Designs "once in a Lifetime "collection. You'll receive 12x12 double sided patterned papers, Tres Jolie Chipboard Stamps-3 total, and Chipboard Tag. Finnibair Mechanicals-Rustic Gears and also a 15 piece Vintage Trinkets Keys and Little Birdie flowers 2 packs! This is a great kit so dont wait to order yours, before they are gone! Here's a photo of the Scrapbook kit:

From my stash I am using Frank Garcia's Memory Hardware Album-Square, Tim Holtz Idea-ology paper dolls screw heads, Distress Ink Gathered Twigs, foam dots and tape, Folkart Vintage White acrylic paint, jute cord, black and copper ink, sentiment stamps.

I like to prep my album pages before adding my base papers. You can skip this step if you prefer but you'll have to adjust the measurements when cutting your bse papers. I applied about 1 inch border using Folkart Vintage White acrylic paint all around my album pages including the front and back covers. See photo:

I chose different patterned papers to cover my pages. I applied Distress Ink around the edges before adhering. Here's my measurements when cutting my papers.

Front/back and inside cover pages: 6 & 1/4 x 6 & 1/4 inches. All other album inside pages are cut at 6x6 inches. Spine- 2 x 6 inches. I used the blue script paper for the front, back and spine.

Front cover:

Back cover:

Front cover: I took the cover sheet and using the backside I cut to measure 6 & 7/8 x 6 & 7/8 inches and adhered on top of my base paper using foam tape on the backside to add some nice dimension. See photo:

Next I cut out the luggage tag and cut in half. I punched a hole at the top and added some jute cord and knotted it. See photo:

Taking one of the Tres Jolie chipboard stamps in your kit, I applied some White paint around the edge. Then I cut out the journal card with the airplane on it and cut to fit inside my Chipboard stamp piece and glue in place. See photo:

I also took another Tres Jolie chipboard stamp and covered with the leftover scrap paper from the journal card we used for our other chipboard stamp. I painted the edges white and trimmed my paper fit and glued in place. See photo:

With foam dots on the backside of my luggage tag, I adhered it at an angle on the leftside. I glued my Chipboard stamp at the top right corner. I took some of the Little Birdie flowers from the kit, and trimmed and glued on the bottom right corner, added one of the Finnibair Mechanical Grungy gears and Finnibair Mechanicals Vintage Trinkets Keys to spell TRAVEL and glued these along the bottom edge. Here's some closeup photos!

Spine: i glued a Little Birdie Blue flower at the top,  my Tres Jolie chipboard stamp in the center and cut out the "Luftpost Par Avion " and glued at the bottom. Here's a photo:

Cut and glue all remaining base papers inside your album. See photo example:

Open to page 1 (backside of front cover) I cut out a few more Journaling cards and pieces: I took another Tres Jolie chipboard stamp and applied copper ink (my stash) around the edge. Then cut out a parcel post scrap from one of the papers. I glued the Luftpost and label at the top of my journal card. Then with black ink and a stamp from my stash, I stamped "oh happy day". See photo below:

I arranged my journal cards on my page, added a photo and glued one flower on the right side. Here's a photo:

Page 2: I cut a photo mat from one of the papers in the kit to measure 4x5 inches. I cut and glued another journal card and added a photo. I glued one flower bud on the right side and the LOVE Finnibair Mechanicals Vintage Trinkets Keys along the bottom. Here's some photos:

Page 3: I cut out a journal card, added a small photo and numbers scraps at the bottom. I created a 6x3 inch pocket. I tore a Prima Marketing Alphabet card and glued on my pocket front along with Typewriter letters (previous TJ kit)to spell out "sisters" and a Finnibair Mechanicals Grungy gear from the kit!
